I wrote this a little less than a year ago, but I have just decided to continue it. All grammar errors and the like are intentional, I promise. The rest of this story will be higher quality than whatever this is.

It was a very sugoi day. Raku-chan and Koneko-chan had gone to the mall to look at very kawaii desu nyah clothing, even though they could not afford it. After they got kicked out of the store for not buying anything and being catgirls, they got some mochi ice cream. And after that, they went home. Entering their homes that were conveniently right next to each other, they went their separate ways for the night with a "Good night, nyah!" from Raku.

As the green-haired neko girl began her nightly routine of watching them sugoi animes and eating the worst combinations of food known to man, she noticed something sticking out of her mailbox from the window. "Oh... mail? For me, nyah?" She began to head towards the door, but realized that the mail could wait. There was a new episode of Super Sugoi Sugar Coated Pink Glitter Girls tonight, after all.

Halfway through the episode, Raku felt a feeling that could never be ignored: hunger. There was only so much ungodly snacks could do for her, so it was time to bust out the big guns of food (in the case of Raku's kitchen, at least). Instant ramen, the most sugoi bussin food of all. In the case of Raku, at least. So she cranked up the stove a little higher than necessary, threw some water in there, and waited for it to boil. She stood there. Staring at it. When she was missing an episode of Super Sugoi Sugar Coated Pink Glitter Girls. Oh well, no one is perfect. There has to be a few dumb ones to balance out the geniuses.

After what felt like forever, the ramen was ready. Finally. Raku slurped it down as fast as possible, then ran back to her TV, only to see that the episode was over. "Oh well, nyah." She sighed. "There's always next week!" With nothing else to do, she decided to just go to sleep. It had been a long day of wishing she had money, after all. But as she was about to climb into her bed...

"Raku... the letter..." a disembodied voice spoke out.

"H-Huh?"

"Go open... the letter..."

"I'll do it tomorrow, nyah." she replied, even though the source of the voice could not hear her. Thinking nothing of it, Raku peacefully drifted off to sleep...

...and into a dream.

She stood on a cliff, alone. Or was she alone? There were unfamiliar figures all around her, but she couldn't tell what they were. In front of her was a blinding light. It hurt. But she couldn't look away. Was Raku... dying? This was always how death was depicted in movies, so that wasn't out of the question. But as soon as she started to accept her apparent death, the blinding light became less... blinding. Something started to cover it, like an eclipse. The darkness, unlike the light, had a form, though difficult to make out. And right as the light was fully obscured, Raku could clearly see the figures around her.

And then she woke up.

Raku wasn't dead, but she certainly felt strange. It was still dark outside. Was she sick? She didn't want to risk anything, so she went downstairs to get a glass of water. Nothing can go wrong with water, right?

Correct. But what can go wrong is going to get your mail at 2 o'clock in the morning. As one may have guessed, the first two things that Raku noticed were the time on her stove (2:16 AM) and the letter that was still sticking out of her mailbox. A creepy voice reminded her of it right as she was about to sleep, after all, so of course she would check. That's a normal thought process, right?! Well, it was for Raku. She's like that. So, after chugging an entire glass of water in one go, she went outside and grabbed the letter.

Right off the bat she noticed that there was a distinct lack of writing on the envelope. Her own address was not listed, and there was no return address. All it said was "To Raku" on the back. A love letter...? She turned it over. The envelope was sealed with wax. This specific wax seal had a unique design, a circle divided into 4 parts. After briefly admiring the craftsmanship of the wax seal, Raku opened it up, and...

Blinding light.

But this wasn't like the light from her dream. It felt warm and welcoming. But also terrifying. The light seemed to consume everything around her until...

She found herself sitting in the car of a strangely clean subway train.

Alone.
