Blast of nostalgia.

(And some other stuff)

"Credit to Banix for inspiring some stuff here"

My mind was in shambles as I was awoken by the bright sun, my body no longer in pain nor were there explosions and nowhere was my beloved Pokémon.

I instantly scanned my surroundings but nothing was there, it was quiet and peaceful. A rush of nostalgia roared through my body as I knew exactly what this was…

"This is route 204!"

My hometown was Jubilife city in the region of Sinnoh and I remembered sneaking out with Sven to train and play on this very route.

I observed my surroundings in astonishment, I could interact with everything perfectly and my body felt natural and it didn't seem like I was some kind of spirit.

Suddenly from the bushes a riolu popped out and clung to my shoulder, "Sven?" I asked the riolu who happily nodded, awaiting me.

"Nick, It's time for lunch!" I heard a familiar female voice said, it sounded like the person was annoyed.

"Ah shi-"

"There you are!" The female voice shouted as she appeared, she wore some summer clothing t and with her was a gliding Gligar.

"You gotta stop running away out to the woods, the Pokémon here may be friendly but it is still dangerous!" She scolded, I couldn't help but feel nostalgic at the venom behind her words.

I haven't seen this version of her in such a long time, she still has the same personality but her looks have changed.

This is Janice Kirese, a worker at the Pokémon daycare I used to live in. She is 5 years older than me and has been working here ever since the age of 16..

"Now bring that riolu of yours and follow along." She said before jumping through some bushes and dodging some tree branches.

From the look of things when I died I went back in time to when I first started doing Pokémon training.

"Does that mean I will likely never see the same Pokémon again aside from Sven?"

I felt saddened by that fact, I had grown an deep attachment to my Pokémon. I remember how adorable Skye was, how tough Kore tried to act and how gentle yet powerful Titanica was and how much Loki messed with her. Loki was so mischievous and sly…I visibly remember him stealing food and other items he liked.

Yet I will likely never meet them again, the same Pokémon that was with me through crazy battles, hardships and formed a deep bond with me.

But I couldn't just lay around and not pursue the path of a Pokémon trainer…

"This time I won't make so many mistakes, I will be more ambitious, more skilled and I will be a better trainer!"

"Oi, you've been awfully quiet for a while now." Janice said, "we've already arrived."

I hastily regained my composure and simply nodded as I watched her take off her cowboy hat and place it on the table.

I looked around, nostalgia dousing itself in my brain as I saw the familiar setup, lamps plopped around and a backyard full of baby Pokémon.

"Here's some curry." She said before giving me a plate of curry, a wave of nostalgia clicked inside of my brain as I remembered the delicious curry that Janice made.

"Stop staring at it and eat the food!" She ordered, "I am sure both Ren and I have taught you better manners than that."

"Calm down Janice, it is his birthday after all" A soothing voice said as from one of the rooms a young boy, around the age of Janice appeared.

"It's my birthday?"

He wore a blue leather jacket and his eyes were bright blue, but I knew they were just contacts.

This is Ren Mcaffrey, he probably recently inherited the owner status of the daycare and was really nice.

"Fine, happy 15th birthday." She celebrated with a not so happy smile.

"Don't be so gloomy Jani" Ren said, "why are you always like this?"

"You weren't this nice when it was my birthday." She stated matter of factly.

"Eh-heh, I forgot how straightforward she was."

Ren slapped his face with no words.

"Well anyways, congratulations you are now officially able to go out into the wild without Janice going full mama bear." Ren congratulated and the second part earned him a small pat on the shoulder from Janice.

"So now get your ass up and leave when you're done." Janice said, Gligar circling me while doing so.

"Janice, you can't just kick him out of the house." Ren said "He already has a trainers license but that doesn't mean he should immediately leave."

"Isn't that how it works?" She replied and Ren silently cursed.

"No…that's only in shows made decades ago." Ren said.

"I don't mind." I butted in and Janice calmly edged my head onto the plate.

"Eat your food and don't complain, we are your seniors so we make the decisions." She ordered.

"Mentally I am older than you."

"Well either way, leave whenever the hell you want." She said with a grin, "maybe then me and you could have some privacy…"

"These two are way too cheesy."

"M-maybe" Ren hesitantly replied to her notion.

Sven quickly hopped onto the table, grabbing one of my chicken and slowly chewed on it.

"So, got some aspirations and goals and stuff?" Ren asked, fondling with a random rubber band he somehow found.

"Become as strong as can be." I calmly replied, determined to fulfill this goal.

"Quite the big one ya got there." He said with a grin before flicking the rubber band at me.

I grabbed the rubber band and grinned before flicking it back.

"Listen here you rascal." He said with a malicious grin. "It is about to be game over for you."

"Before you guys have an rubber band war, Why don't you wash the fucking dishes!" The hot-headed woman ordered.

A distant "No profanity!" Could be heard as Ren almost instantly exited the daycare leaving me the only one able to wash the dishes because that stubborn Janice is sure as hell not doing it.

"Washing Curry off of plates is not fun."

After I finished washing I decided to exit the daycare to go out with Sven to train, the Riolu happily tagged along.

"Now Sven, Today we will be training!" I declared as Sven simply nodded with interest.

"Now, My goal is to have you learn quick attack and basic fighting senses before we depart."

Sven nodded curiously, his curiosity seemed to peak as I started to get into a fighting stance.

"This is both to test him and to test…"

"That"

"Put strength into your hind legs and rear…concentrate purely on your leg and overall movement." I commanded, "after you get a grasp of moving at high speeds…"

"Come at me."

Sven concentrated on his legs and rear before bursting at me with speed, Quick attack isn't a difficult technique by any means so it is pretty common for naturally agile pokemon to get a decent grasp over the technique in the first try if given proper instructions.

Sven attempted to launch a kick with the momentum stopped as his concentration faltered. "Keep your concentration when you're attacking with a quick attack!" I commanded before dodging the kick.

Sven hastily distanced himself before concentrating on his legs once again and bursted with speed and charged right at me.

He jumped a few foot off the ground and launched a kick, the speed slightly decreased but it was still fast nonetheless.I swiftly dodged the attack much to the surprise of Sven.

"I wasn't put through that hellhole of training for nothing!"

"You'll have to do better than that!" I said before grabbing Sven and lightly throwing him.

Sven shrugged the attack off before charging at me again, the more he uses Quick Attack the more stable it becomes. Sven is already gaining a sense of balance when using Quick Attack.

"Good!"

I then swiftly dodged his attacks with ease, but it became more and more difficult to dodge them.

"He's gaining more and more control over Quick Attack!"

"Phew, this is getting kind of tiring…"

"Maybe I should use that."

"Now, let's take things a step further."

"I don't even know if I can use that with my current body"

I closed my eyes, searching for that oh-so familiar sensation…

"Aha!"

Suddenly my body erupted with a graceful sensation as I opened my eyes to see an confused Sven.

" if only it was this easy during training."

"Now, shall we continue?"

Sven nodded excitedly before exploding with speed at me, "oho, it seems he's a bit fired up."

I swiftly blocked his attacks much to his surprise, He distanced himself from me. Likely to observe me and try to figure me out. That is a part of a pokemons natural instinct after all.

"If you aren't going to come to me…"

I dashed forward at my top speed which barely gave Sven enough time to react before I was in front of him.

"I will come to you."

"It seems he still doesn't have a good enough control over Quick Attack to be able to use it instantly."

Sven still used Quick Attack a second or so after and instantly bounced off a tree to go behind me.

I instantly turned around to deflect his attack and grabbed his arm, "I think that's enough for today."

I let go of his arm and started to head back to the daycare, Sven by my side.

"First training, Objective successful."

_

"So, what were ya out doing?" Ren asked as he mopped the floor and me and Sven were wiping the tables and chairs.

"Training." I replied, "How did you train?" He asked with curiosity.

"I had him use me as a training dummy so that he could practice using Quick attack."

"You know that's dangerous right?" Ren replied, "Why couldn't you have just used some trees?"

"Because knocking over random trees will cause environmental harm and purposefully attract pokemon to me, which does not end well." I answered.

"It is totally not because I have tried it and got chased by a flock of Starly."

"Another reason is also because I was moving the entire time and moving targets and objects will heighten his overall growth." I added on.

"Huh, it seems you did your research." Ren said, "But that still does not dispute the fact that making yourself a training dummy is not a good idea."

"Ok ok." I replied, " you're too soft."

"That's what Janice says, but being soft is nice." Ren simply stated, "You can leave now, I will clean the table and chairs."

"No need, I can wipe down just fine, you do some other chore Janice assigned you." I said.

"Wait, isn't he the owner…why is Janice the one bossing him around?"

"That's…surprisingly mature of you actually." Ren said, kind of shocked. "Normally you would;ve just dropped what you were doing and ran to your room."

"Well, ya gotta be mature to be a pokemon trainer." I replied, "Sven go help Ren with other chores. I can take care of this and the rest of the chores that involve the kitchen."

Sven then followed Ren so that they could mop do the laundry while I stayed too clean and wipe down the room.

"Phew, okay to make the process a bit quicker…"

"How about I start putting more effort into it?"

In a burst of speed I grabbed the wipes, "Grasp the sensation…"

"Now!"

I then vigorously wiped the room, using my enhanced body to make cleaning the room even easier.

After a while of doing that, I somehow started to feel tired.

"Tch, if that bastard saw me in this tired state after doing something so miniscule he would've put me through hell for sure."

"I guess this is good training for my unfamiliar body."

As I wiped the entire room clean with various cleaning skills I started to ponder.

"It seems from the look of things I can tap into my fighting state due to me knowing the ins and outs of how to access it alongside my body possessing the power since the very beginning, But I can't use it nearly to the proficiency as I used to be able to."

"Phew, finally done." I let out a deep exhale of exhaustion as I then checked the fridge for a snack…

"Aha!"

I snatched an apple and washed it before biting down on it. The Apple was juicy and crispy, it was a pretty damn good snack after cleaning the room till the point it was sparkling.

As I continued to eat the apple a dark, uncanny thought seeped into my mind.

An image of Loki the Weavile, grinning as it handed over an apple it had fetched from the tree. I bit down on it and patted the feline pokemon which caused it to grin, My Pokemon smiling and all of it fading away…

"Will I ever be able to make such a powerful bond with my new pokemon?"

My thoughts spiraled and it would've fell into a frenzy if they weren't interrupted.

"Damn, this place is sparkling clean!" Janice complimented, "You did great Nick!"

"Thanks, I guess." I replied, sadness evident through my voice as I wasn't hiding it well that's for sure.

"Why are you so gloomy?" Janice asked, concern tricked through her words.

"It's nothing." I hesitantly replied before hastily walking away.

"Nope can do." Janice said before grabbing me by my shoulder she was always exceptionally tall and surprisingly powerful so there was no way I could escape this grasp without going too far.

"You're always like this, keeping everything to yourself and being a loner…" Janice said, "Have you never once considered the feelings of other people?"

"I overheard your conversation with Ren and just when I thought you were going to start to open up to me and Ren . But you shutted that glimmer of hope again to keep everything to yourself!" Janice said angrily, "Listen here brat, we are here for you and will listen to your problems and don't deny it, Something is happening but you won't tell us!"

My lips shut tight, I didn't want to reveal this information to anyone. I always kept everything to myself until 3 years ago and I know that.

"This is my problem." I replied calmly, "I don't need to share my personal problems with anyone."

"..." Janice was silent, "You can at least go to us for help."

"I know you feel as if you can do everything on your own and that you will do everything on your own as long as you have your Pokemon and enough determination." Janice said, " I once thought that too, but I learned the harsh truth that you need to rely on something but yourself and determination!"

"There are people here to support you, Me and Ren aren't just a bunch of Adults that run a daycare and feed you!" Janice shouted, " We are the people you should talk to when in need of help!"

Gligar hovered over her with concern but she simply shooed him away, "Leave and start your journey on your own if you want…but don't blame me if something horrible happens.

"Thank you." I calmly stated, Janice arched her body around in shock.

"For everything you did…" I added on, " I will be sure to take this advice dearly."

"You better do, Frickin Brat." Janice responded, "Come on Cere…We need to finish drying the clothes."

With that Janice and her Gligar left.

"Thank you Janice…"

"For opening my eyes to this real world."

"I shall be the strongest there can be, surpass my previous self and aim eve further…until I reach the limit and smash it to pieces.

I decided to depart on my adventure after 7 days of preparation, training and more.

The first thing I did was train Sven's Quick attack and over the 7 days he has gained almost complete mastery over the move so I have also taught him basic fighting. He caught up and learned this even faster than Quick attack which is expected since he is an Fighting type after all.

His enthusiastic attitude also helps, he loves sparring and doing training because it's in his instincts to fight and battle. He's also started manifesting traits of Aura which makes sense considering this is around the age where Riolu obtains this ability, in my previous life Sven started to show signs of Aura at around this time too.

I've also been meditating and doing other stuff to strengthen my fighting spirit, You see in this world every person has some sort of inner "Typing"

These typings when awakened will grant humans Pokemon like capabilities, the typing of a person can vary. For example, I am a fighting type. Fighting types like me when tapping into my "fighting spirit" will have a substantial boost in power, speed, reflexes and durability far beyond the average human limit.

Your "spirit" will "mold" and change depending on what Pokémon you interact with consistently, for example if somebody with an fighting spirit were to spend a lot of time with an Machamp they would find that they would have larger muscles and when activating the fighting spirit there would be an larger increase in strength and durability.

You can also strengthen your spirit by meditating, allowing yourself to have a better grasp of the "sensation". It will allow you to have a higher proficiency with the spirit, to increase the amount of time you spend in the spiritual state you have to stay in the state and do draining activities, the more you use the state the more you will be able to withstand the stamina drain.

The past 7 days I was strengthening my spirit and using my spiritual state during training sessions against Sven.

I've also been attempting to use Aura, back in my previous life I had just started using Aura. Aura is the core of the body of both humans and Pokémon. The Pokémon can use aura the most proficient is the Lucario Line. Humans can also use Aura but not to the proficiency as The Lucario line can create aura weapons and manipulate aura to incredible degrees.

Humans however can only use Aura to sense other people's aura core and gain an almost psychic like ability to tell emotions and communicate with their Pokémon that has a strong enough aura.

The Pokémon also needs to be strong enough to communicate, as the stronger the Pokémon gets the more energy the aura core has and the energy is what allows them to communicate.

To practice aura I simply followed what my instructor told me over the days, to meditate and channel in the aura from your aura core through concentrated breathing and concentration. To access aura you need to bring the mind, body and spirit to peace and after you did that you need to bring forth aura, if your mind, body and spirit is truly at peace it should come forth.

Aside from that, I've also created a training regimen for Sven and myself. To make us stronger and stuff, I do plan on becoming a ranger after all.

"It's been 7 days and I still can't do it."

I finally opened my eyes and let out a loud sigh, I've barely made any progress on aura and tomorrow morning is when I am supposed to depart.

I got up, patted myself a bit to get the dust off and called for Sven who quickly came running towards me.

"Let's go home."

Then Sven and I raced our way back home, he occasionally used Quick attack to bounce off of some trees and even got in front of me on a consistent basis.

"Guess I gotta take this more seriously!"

My body suddenly bursted with power as I entered my "fighting spirit".

"Being a fighting type is pretty damn cool."

I ran at max speeds which caused Sven to barely be able to keep up, we kept running until finally we arrived at the daycare.

"Perfect timing Nick!" Janice said, "we have a bit of trouble."

"What happened?" I asked and suddenly saw a full blown brawl between a bunch of Bidoof and Starly.

"Can you have Sven break the fight off?" Janice asked, "Why can't you just use Cere?" I replied.

"He's busy with the other Pokémon and he is also a wimp that doesn't like battling." Janice said.

"Fine." I said, rolling my eyes.

"Sven, break this fight off with a Quick attack to the non-vital spots." I ordered, "go easy ok!"

Sven nodded and let out an "Rio" before lunging forward with great speed and kicking an starly and bouncing off of the daycares fences to launch an attack on a bidoof.

"Sven, intimidate them with leer!"

Sven took a fighting stance before leering at the bidoof and starly, his eyes intensifying.

"Punch some of them lightly!"

Sven leapt into the air and chain-striked a group of them, leaving only one or two remaining ones quickly dispersed and left.

"Heh, you did great, Sven!" I praised with an grin on my face, In my previous world this conflict ended with Sven getting injured and him beating a bunch of Pokémon so it is good it turned out this way.

"Great job brat, it seems you are ready now." She said with a solemn smile, "I still remember when you were an immature brat a few years ago."

"Well either way ya better sleep soon because I know for a fact you do not want to depart late…" She ordered.

"Okay okay I am gonna sleep soon" I replied, "Sven you can sleep wherever you find comfy, okay?"

Sven nodded before climbing onto the sofa in the living room.

"Tomorrow is when I am going to depart…"

-

"Wake up, brat." Said the familiar female voice, Her wavy brown was actually done neatly for the first time ever seen I went back in time.

"You are dressing surprisingly formal today." I said with interest, "Ren made me dress this way and he even did my hair." She responded, I nodded.

"That's what I thought, no way that she would take this good care of herself without Ren."

"You're thinking that I can't take care of myself, aren't you?" She said with a feral grin, " Maybe…" I responded.

"Come on, be more nice to him." Ren said with a forced smile. "It's the day of his departure, we shouldn't have him leave on a bad note!"

"Plus it is true you can't take care of yourself properly without me." Ren muttered, "hmm?" Janice cocked her head around.

"Nothing." Ren said, "That's what I thought." She said, a tint of malice from her words.

"Anyways, get your a- I mean get up and go eat your breakfast." Janice ordered, not wanting to use profanity due to Ren's strict no profanity law.

After I finished with my breakfast which was just some cereal, we headed out to route 204.

"If you traverse through the forest a bit with this map, you should be able to enter Jubilife city." Ren said, "I bought this map a few days ago, pretty nifty right?"

"It looks like a normal map though." I replied, "Doesn't look that impressive."

"This is a DAMN good map for only 1000 POKEYEN!" Ren said, obviously agitated. "I Even wasted money to buy you POKEBALLS and POTIONS which aren't cheap."

"Shit, I forgot he was a cheapskate."

"We aren't exactly the richest people out there, you know." Ren said, "Either way you shouldn't even need a map considering this shabby Daycare isn't even that far away from the city."

"But I value the people dear to me more than some measly 1000 pokeyen." Ren said with a grin, "Plus, I don't trust you enough to not get lost and get killed by some wild Staraptor."

"You better remember damn well that not everything is you, people are there for you and you can depend on them." Janice said, "If you ignore this lesson and die in some ditch because you got cocky then I will personally kick that gravestone of yours to shambles."

"Thank you, I will be sure to follow your words…" I said, "Now I shall start my journey!"

"Once again."

"See ya Old lady and Ren!"

I then instantly ran for my dear life with Sven as I turned around to see an angry Janice and a laughing Ren.

"I don't know why I was sent back in time upon my death but…"

"I am gonna grasp and take advantage of this opportunity for sure!"

After the chapter talks with Shizza, the creator of this Fic.

Welcome to the first actual chapter that isn't the prologue. Now This is my first serious fic and I have some stuff planned for this fic. Now When it comes to Pokemon I would like suggestions, but obviously if I don't get any because like 3 people is going to read this fic I will just choose some of the potential candidates for Pokemon.

But yeah, the average chapter length is going to 4k- 5k, a pretty hefty amount if I do say so myself.

That's it for now, see ya in the next chapter I guess.
