Epiphany

Disclaimer: Alas, Gundam Wing is not mineā¦neither is Mr. Rogersā¦
Author's note: I really DON'T like this to be taken as a Quatre and Dorothy pairing fic, it's just not right. I really dislike how some people are twisted enough to think that the blondes are meant for each other. THEY AREN'T. (Note the period)
Dedication: To my sister, Puddle, from whom I got the idea.
Epiphany
by Pedal
It was a beautifully sunny day out, I noticed as I gazed out the window.
I turned to Quatre, watching him working so diligently, and realized I had a small admiration for the boy. Then I had an epiphany. It was a wonderfully twisted idea if I do say so myself.
"Quatre, are you gay?"
His cerulean eyes widened and became glued the metal pencil-holder at the top of his side of the table. Before he said anything, an acute squeak came from his throat.
"Dorothy!" He harshly whispered, as his vision fixated on me. "No, I am not!" Several of the girls started chatting; I glanced over to Heero for a second. The corner of his lip quirked up. Our small conversion was being heard by everyone in the room, thank goodness the teacher was out.
He leaned in closer to me, speaking softer this time. "What makes you think that?"
I shrugged innocently. "Just curious."
I heard him growl. "Well, I'm not." It took quite a bit to get Quatre angry, so I was surprised. Mildly. His eyes narrowed considerably.
Mine narrowed equally. "Prove it," I said simply as I rose to fetch him a handful of tissues.
"What are those for?" His voice changed to a kinder tone, and dropped about an octave.
"Have you ever kissed a girl, Quatre Winner?"
As I expected, blood dripped steadily from his nose. As politely as one could snatch, he took the tissues from my hand and buried his face in them. "Doh." Came his congested response. I could tell he was starting to get quite annoyed with me by now. He sniffed and tossed the red wad into the waste basket. Afterwards, he started to relocate where it was he'd stopped working in his calculus book.
"What evidence do I have that you're not gay?"
"Dorothy, will you please let me work in peace?"
"Interesting word to use in the middle of a WAR, don't you think?" Quatre sighed and slammed down his pencil.
He gently put his hands on my shoulders. "Ok, I am straight and would like very much to finish my homework before the end of the hour."
"I don't believe you." I said quite evilly. Allowing myself to lean in more, our noses touched. Then , he chose that moment to kiss me.
It was a well known fact that all men have egos. Even Quatre. Although he may not have realized it, that's why his lips are on mine. For the sake of his ego. Also, he was fed up with me and had to prove me wrong. Despite the fact this was indeed his first kiss, he was very talented.
"There!" He said in an impressively high-pitched voice. "Are you satisfied?"
I stared at him for a good torturing few seconds before replying, "Yes." I turned back and pretended to concentrate on a math problem.
I sensed Quatre twitching nervously. "Dorothy Catalonia." He said quietly, going back to his own assignment.
"You like me, don't you Quatre?"
"NoIdon't." He answered without a pause in his writing or a look up.
"Hey Quatre," Called Heero from the far end of the classroom.
"I don't want to hear it," Demanded Quatre through clenched teeth.
"What did you get for number seventeen?" Heero grinned. I laughed and looked at the problem. It was a beautiful day outside, I noticed.
