A/N: This is the first (and hopefully not last) piece of fic I have ever written. I'm not perfectly satisfied with it - it should be longer and more detailed - but I'm still quite proud of it.
Once upon a time, there was a boy who lived in a castle hidden among rolling green hills. It was a castle where dreams came true and magic was real. Fate had not been kind to this boy, but in the magical castle, the boy's troubles could become a distant memory. In that castle full of friendship and love, the boy found his first taste of happiness.
In this castle, the boy met a prince. The prince had a crown of white gold. He did not wear royal purple; instead he dressed in jade robes. The boy fell in love with the prince, despite his seeming loftiness. And slowly, the prince fell in love with the boy, despite his seeming ordinariness. Each saw a kindred spirit in the other. And the boy was happy.
As with every good tale, this one had a villain. Not a witch, but a wizard. A wizard who spoke like a serpent, who had eyes the color of blood. This villain was determined to destroy the boy, though the boy had done him no harm. And the villain took the prince, for he knew that the boy would risk all for him.
And so it went. Though many – especially the good wizard with the twinkling eyes – tried to stop him, the boy left the magical castle in search of his prince. He wandered for what seemed like years, afraid but confident. For the boy had heard that love conquers all, that love could keep people safe.
And finally, after searching far and wide, the boy found the prince and the blood-eyed wizard. And he destroyed the wizard, for revenge had found its place in his heart. Lightening flashed and the sky glowed green. When the dust had settled and the wizard was no more, the boy ran to his prince and held him close. The boy blinked back tears and that love truly did conquer all. The boy decided that he could play the prince; he could wake the one he loved with true love's kiss. He leaned forward and touched his lips to the prince's own. The prince remained still, though the boy tried with all his might. And the boy cradled the prince in his arms and wept, for he had learned that only fools believe in happily ever after.
