Author's Notes - So Naruto will have access to the Swift release, Wood Release, and eventually, Scorch Release to begin with. His Preta path will use the Dark Release - Inhaling Maw to absorb the other advanced elements if he is unable to practice them on his own.
Uchiha Compound
Suki found herself in her bed inside her bedroom. As she looked around, the Uchiha began trying to remember how she made it to her. It was then that she gave up and proceeded downstairs. Walking into the kitchen, she was surprised at seeing Naruto cooking.
"Naruto? What are you doing here?" asked Suki as she let out a yawn.
"Good morning, Suki. Don't you remember? We were up really late researching chakra control. You knocked out about six hours ago. I brought you to your room." Naruto said.
"What time did you go to bed?" asked Suki as she walked over and began making herself and Naruto a cup of coffee.
"Funny thing. I really only need sleep to once every few days. It's kind of like how a person eats. They don't need to everyday but it's enjoyable." The blond explained.
"Interesting. Well, did you figure anything out?" Suki asked.
Naruto smiled brightly. "Yes. It's actually really simple, I can't believe I didn't notice it. Whenever I got to produce water elemental jutsu, I use the moisture in the air. Whenever I use an Earth elemental jutsu, I use the ground as a base. Now, if I mix both elements by mixing the air and ground, I can generate wood." Naruto said.
Suddenly, a particular white haired man with a blue mask appeared. "Well, this is certainly surprising." Kakashi said as he sat on the counter with his favorite orange book in his hand.
"Kakashi sensei!" Suki shouted as her face became red and she ran upstairs to put on something under than her house shorts.
Naruto looked at his sensei. "What are you doing here, Kakashi sensei?" Naruto asked.
"I could ask you the same. But I've come to inform you guys that we've got anoher C rank missions. We're to meet in an hour." Kakashi said as he shunshinned out of the compound.
Suki returned to the kitchen cautiously as she was fully dressed. "Mission?" Suki asked.
"Yeah, but the meeting isn't until an hour. So I can show you what I've done." NAruto said as he grabbed Suki's hand and took her outside.
"Okay. Watch this." Naruto said as he went through a series of hand seals. "Wood Release - Great Spear Tree!" Naruto shouted as multiple tree branches appeared from the ground.
"Holy shit! You did it! Are you going to make that your signature jutsu?" asked Suki.
"Nah, it's more so for multiple enemies at once. But come on, let's go back and eat our breakfast. Then we'll go to the mission hall." NAruto said. The two went back inside and quickly enjoyed their breakfast and coffee. "Alright, grab on to me." Naruto said.
"Are we going to do that thing Kakashi sensei does?" asked Suki.
NAruto shook his head. "No, my version is easier." Naruto said as the two vanished in a yellow flash.
Mission Hall
Sakura was standing inside the mission hall. Since neither Naruto or Suki was around, she simply remained quiet as she watched many of the client speak with the chunin and jonin. Naruto and Suki appeared in a flash in front of the pink haired girl.
"Where did you two come from?" asked Sakura as she snapped out of her shock.
"Flashing is the only way to go." Naruto said with a slight smirk.
"Glad you two could join us. I actually just spoke with the client. We'll be going towards the Land of Waves. Our mission is a simple escort mission. We will remain their until the bridge is complete in about two months." Kakashi lazily.
"Okay. When do we leave?" Suki asked.
"In three hours. Since two months is quite a bit of time, here is a list of everything you'll need. Naruto, I'm aware of your skills in fuinjutsu. Why don't you make both Suki and Sakura each a storage scroll?" Kakashi asked.
Naruto nodded. "Okay, that won't be difficult. Give me about ten minutes. Sakura, come to the Uchiha compound with everything on the list. Suki, go ahead and clear the kitchen table. I've got to run a quick errand. I'll also have the scrolls made for you two." Naruto said as he vanished.
Kakashi's eyes went wide as he looked at Suki. "What jutsu was that?" Kakashi asked.
Suki shrugged. "Dunno, it's one of his new jutsu." Suki said.
"Huh? No way. Naruto isn't smart enough to create his own jutsu." Sakura said as she left to grab everything she would need. Kakashi looked at Suki who could only sigh at her friend's antics.
With Naruto
Naruto currently was at his apartment. He was able to quickly make two special storage seals that were simple to seal away and unlock. He then proceeded to pack everything he owned inside of the storage scroll. "Alright, time to meet with Lord Hokage." Naruto said as he vanished.
Naruto appeared inside the hokage's office. Hiruzen was stunned to see the blond appear out of nowhere. "Naruto? Is that what I think it is?" asked the hokage.
Naruto shook his head. "No, Lord Hokage. But I wanted to tell you that I managed to activate the wood release. My question for you is, do you have any wood jutsu I can learn?" Naruto asked.
"Huh? You learned the wood release? Naruto, do you know what this means?" asked the hokage.
"Yeah, I've got a rare bloodline. I'm not worried about it. I'm more focused on adding more jutsu to my arsenol. After some research, Hashirama was known throughout the shinobi nations as the god of shinobi. He simply used wood style and could like never die." Naruto explained.
"Alright, you've made your point. In this scroll, I've got three jutsu. There is a C rank, B rank, and A rank. Be careful. These jutsu are incredibly powerful. The only reason I'm letting you take them is because you never go back on your word. Do you promise to protect them with your life?" asked Hirzuen.
Naruto bowed. "Yes, Lord hokage." Naruto said as he vanished. Naruto soon arrived at the Uchiha compound where found both girls with everything they needed. "Okay, I'm going to give you both a quick lesson. To open the scrolls, prick your finger and let a drop of blood touch the seal. You'll then make the ram sign and then boom, it opens. To close it, channel your chakra to it while making the ram seal." NAruto said.
Both girls did as instructed and were shocked at how easy it was. "Naruto? Where did you learn this? It's incredible." Sakura said.
"Seals have always been my strongest subject. Anyway, Suki, he hokage gave me three unique scrolls for the wood release. I was wondering, did the Uchiha ever have any scrolls on advanced natures? I know the sharingan couldn't copy them. But I figured you may have a few." Naruto said.
"Sorry, but we don't have anything outside the basic elements, along with stuff for the yin and yang release." Suki said.
Naruto sighed. "Okay, that fine. Are you girls ready?" Naruto asked. Suki nodded and grabbed Naruto's hand.
"Suki? What are you doing?" asked Sakura.
"Just grab his hand. We'll be at the gate in a mere second." Suki said as she grabbed hold of Sakura. Three members of team seven vanished and appeared at the front gate. Kakashi was leaning against a tree while reading a book and an older man was sitting down as he was sipping his bear.
"Glad you three are here. This is . He's the famous bridge builder we'll be protecting." Kakashi said.
The three genin bowed. "What the hell is this? I get two little girls and a monster?" Tazuna asked. Kakashi noticed the way Naruto clenched his fist.
" , I assure you, we're more than capable of dealing with any bandits that come out way." Kakashi said with a single eye smile. The five of them proceeded out of the village and began their journey to the Land of Waves. Due to Tazuna being a civilian, they were forced to walk at a slow pace.
Night time
After hours of walking, Kakashi decided it would be best if they rested for the night. Naruto assumed his role to go hunt while Suki went to gather wood. Sakura sighed and agreed to set up camp. Kakashi revealed a personal tent that had special seals around them. It would inform the jonin if anyone managed to get past the group.
"So, the Wood Clone Jutsu, Giant Forest, and Deep Forest of Creation. I'm curious at how powerful these jutsu really are." Naruto thought to himself as he looked forward to taking the shift to train. Naruto quickly found a few fish and brought them back to the group.
"No tiger this time?" Kakashi asked with his single eye smile.
Naruto smirked and shook his head. "Nah, having fish will be good since we're walking such a distance." NAruto said as he began preparing the fish.
Tazuna sat on a log in front of the fire. His eyes gazed on the blond. Kakashi took a seat next to the man as he looked into the fire as well. "Kakashi, what's the story about the boy? I get the idea he isn't like the other." Tazuna said as he took a massive swig from his glass.
Kakashi chuckled. "Well, he didn't earn the title of Konoha's unpredictble ninja for nothing." Kakashi said.
The group finished eating. Kakashi informed the group that Naruto would take the first shift, followed by Suki, then Sakura, and then himself. They would take two hour shifts to insure Tazuna got the needed rest required. Suki and Sakura went into their tent while Kakashi went in his and Naruto's tent. Tazuna proceeded to his own personal tent.
Now that everyone was gone, Naruto pulled out the scroll. "So, to create a wood clone, I need to mix Yin chakra with both my Earth and Water. Okay, let's see." Naruto thought. For the next eight hours, Naruto continued practicing until he finally got it down. When morning time came around, everyone was woken up from his cheering.
"Naruto? What is going on? Why dind't you wake us up?" Kakashi asked as he let out a yawn.
"That's not important Kakashi sensei. Watch this!" Naruto shouted as he created multiple wooden clones. The jonin was utterly shocked at what he saw.
"Naruto? How? When?" was all Kakashi could ask.
Naruto chuckled sheepishly. "I apprently have another bloodline. Anyway, Lord Third gave me this scroll and I practiced all night. I actually forgot to wake you guys up. But truthfully, I wouldn't have been able to sleep anyway. I mean, look how awesome this is. Not to mention, I receive their memories when they dispel." Naruto said.
"Interesting." Kakashi silently thought. "Well, here is a food pill. You'll need it to restore your energy." Kakashi said as he flicked Naruto the black pill.
He happily ate it. "Ew, this tastes horrible." NAruto said.
"Yeah, that's what we're given in the anbu. Anyway, how long can you make your wood clones for? Also, how many?" asked Kakashi.
NAruto adopted a thinking pose. "You know, I'm not sure, Kakashi sensei. Let's see. Wood Clone Jutsu!" Naruto shouted and over one hundred Naruto's appeared.
The five of them proceeded to continue on the path while the wood clones created a perimiter around them to inform the group if they see anyone. The walk was peaceful with nothing appearing out of the ordinary. Nothing appeared out of the ordinary until Naruto spotted and sensed two chakra signatures in a puddle.
Suki felt his concern from her seal and saw he was looking at the puddle. She secretly drew a kunai to prepare for any attack. Sakura was unaware like Tazuna but the two genin that took the life of a ninja serious were ready. In that moment, two cloaked figures charged.
Kakashi was caught in the chains and torn to shred. "Kakashi sensei!" Sakura shouted as she froze up.
"Damnit, Sakura." Suki shouted as she jumped in front of the bridge builder.
"Wood Release - Great Spear Tree!" Naruto shouted and suddenly, tree branches appeared and stopped the men in their tracks. Due to the random angles and speed the men were going, they were unable to avoid their vital areas from being pierced. The two men died on impact.
"Impressive. Nice work, Suki, Naruto. I'm sorry I scared you, Sakura. I didn't expect you to freeze like that." Kakashi while sitting in a tree.
"Huh? Why were you up there? We could ahve been killed?" Tazuna shouted at the masked ninja.
"No worries, I could have jumped in at anytime. However, I wanted to see who there target was. My team of genin, or our client. You've got some explaining to do." Kakashi said with a stern tone.
Tazuna sighed. "Alright, I'll tell you. You see, I'm a massive target for this billionair company. It's no surprise that he sent shinobi after me." Tazuna said.
"Why did you lie? If you would have been honest, then we would have properly charged you for a B or A rank mission and given you a proper team." Kakashi said.
"That's the thing. I couldn't afford it. Ever since this tyrant took over the Land of Waves, we've been dirt poor. Even the C rank mission is hurting us greatly. I had no choice but to lie." Tazuna said.
Kakashi sighed. "I'm sure you have your reasons. But that's no excuse for lying. Truthfully, we should end this mission right here and return to the village. There is no doubt in my mind that the next ninja they send, will be a jonin. This will bump the mission up to an A rank." Kakashi said.
Tazuna nodded. "I understand. I'm sorry for putting you through this. But, if we end the mission now, I'll most certainly be killed." Tazuna admitted.
"Naruto, Suki, Sakura. What do you guys think?" asked Kakashi.
"Tazuna, I understand you lied to protect the people you hold dear to you. While that's a new feeling to me. I can say this, if it means getting your people out of poverty and putting an end to a tyrant, then mark my words, I, NAruto Uzumaki will escort you safely home and protect you unti lthe bridge is built. That's a promise and I never go back on my word." Naruto said with determination.
Suki nodded while Sakura was shocked at the words Naruto said. Kakashi gave his single eye smile a nodded. "Alright, next stop, the Land of Wave." Kakashi as the five of them resumed their travel.
Six days later
Team seven and Tazuna had continued their travel for the next six days. Aside from the encounter with the demon brothers, nothing appeared. During one of the nights they camped out, Tazuna explained that Gato was the man responsible for causing the chaos inside of the Land of Waves.
Naruto also used this time to master the Wood Release - Giant Forest. Unlike the wood clones, Naruto needed better chakra control. Had it not been for Suki scolding him, he would have stayed awake the entire trip to master the jutsu.
While walking, the area became dense with heavy fog. This fog was heavier than usual and it concerned Kakashi. NAruto explained that the fog wasn't natural and that senses two high chakra signatures approaching. Kakashi then gave the order for Suki and Sakura to protect Tazuna at all cost. Naruto was given the order to be prepared to play as backup.
After another two hours of walking, Naruto received a kunai from Sakura and tossed it into the forest. A white rabbit appeared which caught Kakashi off guard. He then ordered for his team to get down. Naruto grabbed both Suki and Sakura while Kakashi grabbed Tazuna.
Flying in the air and connecting to a tree, a massive sword appeared with a man in gray pants with bandages covering the bottom half of his face and neck. Kakashi's fears were answered. Gato had decided that it would be best to send a jonin level shinobi.
"Well, if it isn't my lucky day. It's not everyday I get to encounter Kakashi Hatake." the man said with a sinister chuckle.
"Zabuza Mommochi, demon of the hidden mist and former swordsman from the hidden mist. You're wanted in the bingo book for your assassination attempt on the fourth Mizukage. What's a rogue ninja like you doing out here?" asked Kakashi.
"I got a job in eliminating the bridge builder. So, I'm going to need you to hand him over." Zabuza said.
"That's not going to happen. I didn't expect to have you to be here." Kakashi said.
"So, are we going to dance?" asked the swordsman as he pulled his sword from the tree.
"No, I've decided to let my student take this one. He's one for one on rogue ninja encounters. Naruto, are you up for it?" asked Kakashi.
"Do you really expect this brat to give me a challenge? What makes him so special?" asked Zabuza.
Kakashi gave a single eye smile. "He's known as Naruto of the Rinnegan." Kakashi said.
"Impossible. I guess all those years of being a famous shinobi has finally made you crack. No way that brat has those eyes." Zabuza said. Suddenly, Suki and Sakura found Zabuza between them in the bridge builder. "I don' have time for your games! Die!" Zabuza said.
As Zabuza went to slash his sword, Naruto appeared right in front of him. Due to the thick fog, he couldn't see the yellow flash. "Almighty Push." Naruto said as Zabuza went flying into the trees. The blond glared with his purple eyes at the demon of the mist.
"Leave and I won't kill you." Naruto said.
"Haha. You get one lucky punch, and you think you've won?" asked Zabuza as he picked himself up. "Water Release - Gaint Vortex!" Zabuza shouted as a massive body of water appeared from the lake.
Naruto saw this and used his Earth Release - Mud Wall. The wall of mud blocked the vortex along with protected Tazuna, Suki, Kakashi, and Sakura. Naruto then stuck his arm out. "Universal Pull." Naruto muttered as Zabuza came flying at him. "Wood Release - Gaint Forest." Naruto said as his arm morphed into a massive tree branch and pierced through Zabuza's body.
Suddenly, the body turned into water as Zabuza appeared behind the blond and prepared to strike. As the slash came, two sets of arms stuck out of Naruto's back. His eyes were glowing. "Another path?" Naruto silently asked himself. "Chakra Propulsion Cannon." Naruto said as massive bursts of chakra were shooting at Zabuza's body. The blasts were so great that it sent the swordsman flying once more.
"What the hell are you?" asked Zabuza as he found himself struggiling to stand up.
Naruto walked to the man. "I am God. Almighty Push!" Naruto shouted as Zabuza was sent flying into the trees. Half of the forest appeared to be eliminated. "You're no match for me, Zabuza. No matter what jutsu you use." NAruto said.
"I will not be defeated by some kid! I'm Zabuza Mommochi! Demon of the Hidden Mist!" Zabuza roared as he charged at the blond while adding chakra to his feet.
"Oh no! Naruto's taijutsu skills are non existent. He can't defend." Kakashi said with fear.
"Wood Release - Great Spear Tree." NAruto said. Unlike the demon brothers, Zabuza was able to shift his body to prevent any vital areas from being struck. However, he was unable to continue fighting. "It's done. You've lost." Naruto said.
In that moment, two senbon needs pierced through Zabuza's neck. In front of him, a masked woman, a tracker ninja from the hidden mist village appeared. "Thank you, I've been hunting Zabuza for awhile now. I'm sorry I didn't step in sooner." the tracker said.
Kakashi walked over to check Zabuza's pulse. "He's dead." Kakashi confirmed.
"I will be taking the body." The tracker said. As she was about the vanish, Naruto spoke up.
"Hey, tracker ninja. Make sure Zabuza is healed up. I get the feeling he wasn't going all out until the very end. I look forward to another match with him." Naruto said. The tracker ninja remained silent as she vanished in a shunshin.
"What do you mean by that?" Kakashi asked his student.
"Isn't it obvious? The tracker ninja was working with Zabuza. Reason one, I felt her chakra shift when she thanked us. This showed she was lying. Secondly, what tracker ninja takes the entire body? They take the head and burn the body." NAruto said.
"Then why didn't you attack?" Suki asked.
"Because, she has the Ice Release Kekkei Genkai. This would be ideal for me to absorb and add to my arsenol. Also, I want to fight Zabuza when he's a full strength. I guess you could say it's a warrior's pride." Naruto said with a laugh before he passed out.
"Did Naruto just run out of chakra?" asked Suki.
Kakashi walked over and picked the boy up. "It seems that his body isn't used to using the multiple Rinnegan abilities, along with his Swift and Wood release. To think, Naruto has more chakra than any of us. I knew I made the right call on this." Kakashi said.
"What do you mean?" Sakura asked.
"I wanted Naruto to fight Zabuza. This gave me a good idea of what level he's at. I think it's time that I really start training you guys. Suki, you are decent all around, but we need to better your chakra control, jutsu arsenol, and overall building your reserves. Sakura, you need to build up your reserves. The fact they are this small is troublesome." Kakashi said.
Somewhere in the hidden leaf village, a Nara sneezed. "Damn, how troublesome. Someone must be talking about me." said the Nara.
"Naruto, by far, he has the most potential out of all of us combined. I want you two to know that I won't be neglecting your training. However, Naruto will need most of my attention. I'll be sure to stay on top of both of you. But please don't take it the wrong way if I'm not giving you all my attention." Kakashi said.
"I understand, Kakashi sensei." Sakura said.
"Well then, I guess you better get in shape. No matter what challenge you throw at me. I won't let Naruto pass me up." Suki said with a smirk of determination.
Kakashi gave a single eye smile. "I'll hold you to it. Now, Tazuna, how far is your house?" asked Kakashi.
"We're only an hour away." Tazuna said and the five of them proceeded to Tazuna's house in the Land of Waves.
