Author's Note - We're now going to enter the chunin exam's arc along with the Konoha destruction Arc. So far, NAruto awoken the Deva, Asura, and Preta path (Dark Release). Naruto can use Wood and Swift Release. I've decided for simplicity purposes, the other kekkei genkai's he absorbs, Ima just give him a single jutsu. Naruto is officially with Suki. She is the only one in the generation that's aware of Naruto being a Jinchuriki. I do plan on having Naruto have that revelation. Also, I understand the main cast is only 12-13, remember, this is a different world with different traditions to what most of us are use to. So there may be some thing that viewers might find disturbing. Just keep that in mind. Also, about Naruto's reserves and stamina. While he does have divine level chakra, his body isn't used to releasing so much of it at once. So while he suffers from using too much chakra, he isn't on a death bed.

It has been an entire week since team seven returned from the Land of Waves. Hiruzen scolded Kakashi for not calling in backup along with going through the mission. Naruto and Suki were both praised for their efforts, especially Naruto. Sakura was said to have needed to start picking up her slack or else she'd be removed from the shinobi core. Nobody was aware of Naruto and Suki's relationship and while they didn't care if people found out, one thing in common the two had, they both loved privacy.

Though it wasn't official, Naruto moved into the Uchiha compound. When Naruto and Suki were dismissed from the hokage's office, Suki found Naruto's apartment nearly destroyed from the villagers. Suki decided he would come stay with her. Since Suki refused to sleep in her parents or Itachi's room, Naruto usually slept in her room. Out of respect, he made himself a pallet but Suki demanded that he acts like a normal person and sleeps in the bed.

Naruto had also worked hard on perfecting his ability to perform the ice release kekkei genkai he absorbed. To his and Suki's surprise, Naruto couldn't mold any other forms of ice. They figured that the jutsu had limitations. This made Naruto think long and hard about the next kekkei genkai he absorbs and what shape he would use.

Uchiha Compound

The two were currently sitting at the kitchen table. Naruto made them both a bowl of ramen. They had just finished an intense training session inside the Uchiha clan's training field. Naruto was determined to help Suki build her reserves along with gaining better control. Naruto also sparred with Suki to help her build natural stamina, agility, and speed.

"Man, you make the best ramen ever." Suki commented as she was chowing down on the ramen.

Naruto was following suit as he nodded. "That mission was insane. That's our second C rank turned A that we've done." Naruto said.

"I agree. Lord Hokage needs to really start inspecting these missions more thoroghly." Suki said. When they finished eating, Naruto walked over to the sink with both bowls and started doing the dishes. "You know, I don't think I ever saw my father or brother wash a single dish." Suki commented as she sat on the counter and started eating an apple.

"That's strange. I know many guys believed it's a woman's job to stay in the kitchen, but I think it's kind of silly. If both people live in the house, shouldn't boh parties share responsibilities?" Naruto asked as he started drying off the plate.

"Yeah. I'm going to go take a shower." Suki said as she hopped down and threw the core of the apple away.

"Okay, I'm going to the library. I'll be up later." Naruto said. He walked over and gave Suki a soft kiss on the lips before going downstairs. Though it's been normal for them to share a kiss, Suki still blushes and gets excited when he shows her affection.

Hokage's Tower

"So, it's that time of year." Hiruzen said to the multiple jonin and chunin standing in front of him.

"The chunin exams? I forgot they were taking place here." said Asuma.

"I wonder how the competition will be this year." Kurenai said.

"Alright, as you know, the chunin exams will be taking place here in Konoha. As expected, neither Kumo, Kiri, or Iwa will be joining us. We'll be receiving ninja from Sunagakure, Kusagakure, Amegakure, and the new hidden village, Ottogakure. I'd like form Kakashi Hatake, Kurenai Yuhi, Might Guy, and Kakashi Hatake to step forward. Please, declare your team, progress, and your recommendation." Hiruzen said.

Asuma lit himself a cigarette, much to Kurenai's annoyance. "I, Asuma Sarutobi, jonin sensei of team ten. Team ten consists of Shikamaru Nara, Ino Yamanaka, and Choji Akimichi. My team lacks great motivation but is able to pull through when it counts. Between Shikamaru's Shadow Possession, Ino's Mind Transfer, and Choji's expansion jutsu. I'd say the three of them have quite the killer combo. I recommend all three of them for the chunin exams.

"I see. Okay, Team nine." Hiruzen said after he gave his son a nod.

Might Guy, the genin sensei who received a team one year prior stepped up. "I, Might Guy, jonin sensei of team nine. Team nine consists of Neji Hyuga, Tenten, and Rock Lee. Due to being a genin for an entire year, I've been able to properly help my squad hone their skills and push them to their limits. I recommend all three of them for the chunin. exams" Guy said.

"Team eight." Hiruzen said as he looked at the female jonin.

The crimson eyed woman stepped foreward. "I, Kurenai Yuhi, jonin sensei of team eight. Team eight consists of Shino Aburame, Hinata Hyuga, and Kiba Inuzuka. Our squad's teamwork is flawless. Their abilities in tracking are unrivaled by any other rookie squad. Hinata Hyuga suffers from a lack of confidence but is usually motivated by her teammate, Kiba Inuzuka. Kiba is often found arrogant when approaching situations but Shino is usually able to calm him down. I have nothing negative to say about Shino aside from his lack of emotions. I recommend all three of them for the chunin exams." Kurenai said.

"Thank you. Kakashi, you're up." Hiruzen said to the silver haired jonin.

Kakashi lazily walked forward as he put his book away. "I, Kakashi Hatake, jonin sensei of team seven. Team seven consists of Suki Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, and Naruto Uzumaki. Truthfully, Naruto is a one man squad. His abilities alone place him above the other genin and even most chunin. He lacks in taijutsu but makes up for it in his other areas. Suki Uchiha has great taijutsu skills that put her on par with some of our chunin. She has excellent potential in the fire release. She and Naruto wore perfectly as a team." Kakashi explained.

"What about Haruno?" Hiruzen asked.

Kakashi sighed. "I don't believe she offers anything to the squad. Personally, I recommend sending her to the hospitals to learn proper medical aid or place her on the reserves." Kakashi said.

"Interesting. You are aware that to compete in the chunin exams, you need to have a squad of three, right?" asked the aged hokage.

"Well, Itachi Uchiha competed alone. I don't see why Naruto and Suki can't compete as a two man squad. Truthfully, Haruno is most likely to get them killed for her lack of skill. I recommend Naruto Uzumaki and Suki Uchiha as a two man squad to compete in the chunin exams." Kakashi said.

Many of the other shinobi in the room were shocked at Kakashi's statement. "Now wait a minute! You can't be serious about sending Naruto and Suki into the exam alone! I was there teacher, I know what they are capable of." Iruka declared.

Kakashi turned to face the chunin academy instructor. "If so, then you'd know that Naruto had potential and skills beyond anyone else. He should have been given an early graduation. But due to you bias and ignorance, you nearly costed the blond his shinobi career." Kakashi shot back in a stern tone.

"You're sending them to their graves. People die in these exams." Iruka said.

"Naruto went head to head with Iwa's Stone Demon, along with Zabuza Mommochi, he killed both of them. Not to mention, Naruto eliminated the tyrant and freed the Land of Waves from his wrath. I don't know anyone else his age or rank that can do such a thing." Kakashi said.

"Kakashi, are you serious? Naruto pulled that feat off?" asked Asuma.

"That's right. Also, Suki has shown the ability to awaken the Sharingan. If you ask me, those two are in a league of their own." Kakashi said.

"It's decided then. Team seven, minus Sakura Haruno, will be competeting in the chunin exams." Hiruzen declared.

"But Lord Third, we're basically sending these kids to their deaths!" Iruka declared.

"Iruka, they aren't your students anymore. They're mine." Kakashi said with a cold tone.

"Iruka, I understand your concerns. However, Kakashi is right. They're no longer your students. Have faith." The aged hokage said before dismissing everyone.

With Team Seven

"God, how can he always be late?" asked Sakura as she was leaning against a pole.

"I'm not sure. I'm starting to see why Naruto doesn't show up an hour and forty five minutes after the set time." Suki said.

"Speaking of Naruto. I noticed you've been hanging around him a lot latetly. What's been going on?" Sakura asked as she raised an eyebrow in concern.

"What do you mean?" Suki asked as a blush formed on her face.

"You two are basically together everyday. Be careful, some may think you've got a thing for him." Sakura said.

Suki glared at her friend. "What does it mater if I've got a thing for him? I bet neither you or Ino took a single moment to even get to know him." Suki said with venom in her voice.

"What is their to know? You saw him on the bridge. He's a monster. Nobody our age should be able to do that." Sakura said.

"Minato Namikaze, Itachi Uchiha, Shisui Uchiha, Kakashi Hatake, Hiruzen Sarutobi. If you want, I can continue." said the voice of Naruto who was hanging upside down in a tree.

"Hey! You're late!" Sakura shouted.

"Wrong. I'm only late when Kakashi sensei get's here before me. So far, he hasn't beaten me once." Naruto said. "But back to what I was saying, age has nothing to do with being a shinobi. There are so many powerful shinobi that were far younger than us." NAruto said.

"That's right, Naruto." Said the voice of Kakashi who appeared in a shunshin with his famous eye smile.

"It's about damn time!" Sakura shouted.

"Anyway, Naruto, Suki. I've got some news for you. I've gone ahead and recommended you two for the chunin exams. If you're interested, go to the ninja academy in the morning at ten." Kakashi said.

"Huh? You recommended us?" asked Suki.

"Wait, what about Sakura? From what I heard, the chunin exams can only be taken as a full team." Naruto said.

"Well, that's the thing." Kakashi said as he faced Sakura. "After reviewing your performance since day one, it's clear that you're not cut out to be a shinobi." Kakashi said.

"Why? Why am I being taken off the team?" Sakura asked.

"Sakura, be serious for once. Ever since day one, you've shown no effort in any area. You haven't even shown any inerest in improving. Truthfully, if you are on this team any longer, it will most likely cost your teammates their lives." Kakashi said in a serious one.

This broke Sakura as she glared at the ground. "I know I'm not the best... But I'm trying my hardest." Sakura declared.

"Your hardest won't save your teams life. However, their is some good news for you." Kakashi said as he tried to raise the girl's spirit. Sakura looked up at her sensei. "You'll have the option of jonin the reserves or specialize in a particular field. I recommended you start working at the hospital. Once you're certified, you'll be placed in the medical combat field. You will have a chance at being a medical shinobi. How does that sound?" Kakashi asked with his one eye smile.

Sakura nodded. While it hurt her that she wouldn't be with her best friend, she couldn't deny she was the team's weakest length. "Thank you, Kakashi sensei." Sakura said with a sad smile.

Kakashi smiled. "Of course, meet me at the hokage's office tomorrow at ten thirty. There, we will process you and everything." Kakashi said as he vanished in a shunshin.

"You know, he isn't wrong." Naruto said while looking at the pink haired girl.

Suki and Sakura looked at their team with shock. "Naruto! Why would you say that?" asked Suki.

"Don't let your personal feelings get in the way. Sakura has provided nothing to this team." Naruto said sernly.

"That's not true." Sakura said but was cut off from Naruto.

"Remember our mission in the Land of Waves? I told you to take Tazuna and run. You refused to take any instruction that I gave you. It took Kakashi sensei doing it for me to strike. Had it not been him, Suki would have been killed. Look, I know I'm being an ass, but I'm giving you the harsh reality. Next time, we may not get so lucky." Naruto said as he vanished in a flash.

Sakura looked at her friend. Suki sighed. "Sakura, is what Naruto said true? Did you really not want to cooperate?" asked the black haired girl.

"It wasn't that. My orders were to protect Zabuza. Plus, it's Naruto. What could he really have done?" asked Sakura.

Suki glared at her friend. "You know, maybe Kakashi sensei is right. Maybe you aren't cut out to be a shinobi." Suki said as she left the area, leaving Sakura alone.

Uchiha Compound

Suki returned home after running a few errands. She noiced Naruto wasn't in the training field or the kitchen. Suki proceeded to the library and was stunned to see how many scrolls were out. "Um, Naruto? What are you doing?" Suki asked as she walked over.

"Hey, Suke. I'm trying to develop a new jutsu. You see, Zabuza's hidden mist jutsu was quiet powerful. However, one of the biggest flaws that it had, it was that it only stopped sight. Truthfully, if a person remains calm, they'll be able to counter it." Naruto pointed out.

"What have you come up with?" Suki asked as she started to rub Naruto's upper back.

"I researched the Ice, Magnet, Swift, Scorch, Wood, Storm, Boil, Explosion, Lava, and Plasma. Out of all those advanced elements, the boil release would probably be my best bet." Naruto explained. "You see, what happens when you pour water on fire?" Naruto asked.

"Um, it goes out?" Suki asked.

"Yes, but what is created?" NAruto asked with a smirk.

Suki took a few moments to think about it. "Wait, steam is created!" she shouted.

"That's right. So, what if I created a steam that's so thick, it shuts off a person's sight." Naruto said.

"But what difference would that be from the hidden mist jutsu?" Suki curiously asked.

"What if the mist is so hot, it starts burning the target's skin? They'll be distracted from the burning sensation, that they won't be able to focus on the user's movements!" NAruto declared.

"Naruto, that's a genius idea. But how are you going to pull it off? Suki asked.

"Simple. I use the hidden mist jutsu. At the same time, I manipulate fire chakra from my body. That's what makes the rinnegan an overpowered doijutsu. The affinity in all five natures give me such an unfair advantage." Naruto said.

"How are you going to create this jutsu? We start the exams tomorrow?" Suki asked.

"I've already got that covered. Multi Wood Clone Jutsu!" Naruto shouted as one hundred Naruto's appeared. "I want all one hundred of you to start working on the jutsu. I need results by tomorrow." Naruto said and the clones got to work.

"Damn chakra freak." Suki said as she smirked.

The two proceeded inside while the clones went to the training field and began the project. Naruto decided to take a shower first and as he stood under the blazing water, his thoughts on the upcoming exam was taking over. "I wonder... What are the main skills a chunin needs to have? Leadership? No, leadership is a born talent. Hmm... Maybe I'll do best if I just wing it." Naruto thought.

Once the blond finished his shower, he put on his sleevless orange shirt along with a pair of black shorts. He then crawled in the bed next to Suki. Ever since they officially became a couple, Naruto often blushed when he saw Suki snuggle up to him. She wore a simple black tank top and a pair of black underwear. To say Naruto was turned on, it would be an understatement.

The next day morning time

Naruto and Suki got dressed for the exam. Suki packed extra kunai and shuriken inside of a storage scroll Naruto created for her. Naruto packed a first aid kit since the two of them could easily perform the basic essentials that's required of all chunin.

As they walked down the street, commotion could be heard. Naruto saw his young friend, Konohamaru, being grabbed by his collar by a man in a black suit.

"Come on, just let him go. We're going to be late." a blond haired girl said. She wore a white shirt with a fish netted covering on the top. Strapped to her back, was a massive fan.

"No way, Temari. This little brat needs to be more attentive to his surrondings. I think I'll give him a small lesson." said the man with purple face paint.

"Whatever, Kankuro. If he gets mad, it's all on you." said the girl, now identified as Temari.

"Hey, I'd let him go if I were you." said Naruto as he and Suki walked up.

"Naruto? Thank God you're here!" Konohamaru said with relief.

"Man, you guys are like roaches. You keep poping up out of nowhere." Kankuro said.

"I'd watch out. That's the third hokage's grandson. I doubt he'll like a group of Suna ninja messing with him. Also, you can tell your friend that's hiding to come out." Naruto said as he looked behind the tree.

The red haired boy with a gord on his back was in utter shock. "How did he know I was here?" the boy thought as he vanished in a shunshin with sand. He then appeared before both Kankuro and Temari. "What are you two doing?" the boy asked with an emotionless tone.

"I'm sorry, Gaara. The kid was just." Kankuro said before he was cut off.

"Shut up. If you annoy me again, I'll kill you." Said Gaara as he turned around. "I must apologize for the ignorance of my siblings. My name is Gaara. What is your name?" asked the mysterious boy.

"Naruto, Naruto Uzumaki." Naruto said.

Gaara smirked sinisterly at the blond. "Your blood, I look forward to tasting it." Gaara said as he and his siblings left.

"Okay, that was weird. That's the most weirdest thing I've ever heard." Suki said.

"Hey, during this exam. Keep an eye out for that team. Also, the sound team sitting in the tree. They seem like trouble." Naruto said as the two started walking.

Ninja Academy

Naruto and Suki entered and saw a group of ninja being denied entry. Suki chuckled. "Damn, these idiots fell for this simple genjutsu?" Suki asked as her Sharingan eyes were activated.

"Let's not say anything. This is clearly a test to reduce the number of people entering." Naruto said and they walked past the group and up the stairs where they were met by Kakashi.

"Well, I'm glad you two showed up." Kakashi said with his one eye smile.

"Kakashi sensei? What are you doing here?" Suki asked with an eyebrow raised.

"It's traditional for the jonin sensei to see their team off before the first exam. Now, there is something I need to tell you two." Kakashi said as he adopted a more serious attitude. "You two have been considered village favorites. This means you will both have a target on your back. Remember the first lesson I ever taught you, teamwork." Kakashi said.

Both Naruto and Suki nodded. "Good, now you lovebirds show them what team seven is made of." Kakashi said. After the three fist bumped, the two members of team seven entered the door and were ready to face the challenges before them

Uchiha Compound

"I think the boss will be satisfied with our results." Said one of Naruto's wood clones.

"I do too. He's truly a genius." said another wood clone.

"Doesn't that mean we're all geniuses?" asked the first clone.

"That's right. He's getting ready to take the first exam. I suggest we dispell in groups of ten. This way, the boss isn't overloaded with our memories." said the wood clones as they began to dispel, one by one.
