Author's Note: This is my first CSI fan fiction. Please be nice. It's a short angst- filled little piece and was totally inspired by the music video "You were mine" made by Clara. The song is from the Dixie Chicks and the last line is kind of from the song. Please RR!

"Hey there" she sat down on his desk and smiled.

"I didn't hear you come in…" he shuffled some papers around on his desk, avoiding her eyes.

"Something wrong?" She crossed her legs and brushed her bangs out of her face.

"Not really, I was just a little busy." Looking up at her, he stood up from his chair and stretched. "I'm getting no where on this case."

"Maybe that's because your mind's somewhere else?" she picked up the case file off his desk and started thumbing through it.

"And where might my mind be?"

"I don't know- but I know it's not here, I mean on the case Grissom."

"My mind's on the case."

"I think your mind's on who you're working with." She stood up from his desk and dropped the file on his lap. She walked to the door and left, not bothering to look back at him. She hoped more than anything that just for once he would follow her, but as Sara walked into the room where she had just been she knew he wouldn't. Closing her eyes, she leaned against the window of his office hearing the closed blinds crunch against the weight of her body. Turning, Catherine stared at the closed blinds, her head resting against the window and whispered with tears in her eyes:

"What gives her the right to take you from me, when for so long you were mine?"
