AUTHORS NOTE: Hello everybody, my name is Poimandres. I used to be Rom Manic here on this site, but my account was lost some time ago. I rewrite my old fanfic for you here. I'll be doing it in parts, and it's going to be pretty raw, so don't mind me if I add details later on in the future. I want this to be as raw as possible, giving you my full creativity. We'll work with whatever comes up, for now, I leave you in mystery about the true beginnings of this tale.

Megaman X - Fusion (Part 1)

Are Fayr walked calmly into the main building of the Kuni Shemasa's headquarters. Ysetsia, a planet within the main subcluster of civilization, was known for it's lovely architecture. He looked up and saw the wonderful archway that was built to honor those who entered. Pictures of titans were etched upon the walls, honoring the culture of Rutan, a lovely mix of ideology and historical content that brought Ysetsia together long before. That was during the reformation, and nearly a thousand years had passed since those days.

The planet was bustling with activity over the news of separatists making military formations in the southern continent, Ogg Dagyar. Ogg residents often had the sense of rebellion for losing the war all those years ago, but usually the notion was always made in jest. Very few fights still emerged over those old rivalries, but some were alive to make that possible. Mostly, people kept to themselves about it, and offered little in debate about it when the subject came up. Still, the historians would always consider Ogg Dagyar to be the loser of that day, but since Rutan's development, things had been blossoming peacefully between mainland Ysetsia and Ogg Dagyar until these separatists came to be a force.

That happened to be exactly what Are was on today, and he intended to find out something very soon. As he passed through the security check, his datapad made a beep, indicating it was time for a meeting with a few of his close associates. Walking briskly towards the elevator he noted an Ogg resident, a girl, looking at him. He noticed her, and he smiled, raising his hand to make the gesture of Okku, which is a sign that you wish them to prosper and needn't say anything more. She frowned, and turned away. Are thought this to be cute, but he had no time to banter with her. He walked into the elevator, raising his hand to hold off a few people walking in at the same time.

"Oh! Well, excuse me!" One of the people said, stepping back.

Are was well known for being Kammor Shemasa. As Kammor for the last three years, everyone got to know his perseverance and excellence. Most notably, a discrepancy between Ogg Dagyar and mainland Ysetsia formed over naval troops moving too close to each other. In the end, a joke made way with Ogg's leader, the Dek'ra of Ogg, and the two sides calmed down. Everyone in the building respected him to some degree, for an oath to loyalty went a long way with the people of Ysetsia. Civil servants were always smiled upon and treated well for that reason.

The doors closed and Are pulled out his datapad. He typed in a security code into the terminal at the elevator door, and the elevator beeped twice loudly. The elevator was now taking him to his destination above without interruption. Accessing the conference function on the datapad, he typed in his authentication code and three people were displayed on screen.

"Go ahead, Unit Three," Are said, observing their candor on screen.

"There are four of them," Unit Three said, "I watched as one of them performed some kind of spiritual miracle, by Hokaan I have never seen anyone lift someone up without touching them!"

"Did you observe anything special about their gathering?" Are questioned. Four of them would be relatively easy to deal with, in time, but he needed to know more about the gathering there.

"Only that Xerdan was present, and he nearly dropped to the floor when that happened. The zealots were bowing continuously, the lot of them!" Unit Three reported. "I didn't have time to remain for long, but they placed the body into a vessel, I am unsure of it's location as I had to leave the scene."

Xerdan, or more formally, Dogus Xerdan, was the Dek'ra of Ogg, and his presence here meant that Ogg Dagyar was meaning to split forever and leave the kingdom in tatters. He was a military figurehead in their world, and had many markings the Ogg people considered to be divine in nature. Are had a chance to interact with his staff once, and at the time they were being very considerate to him. Xerdan had even established a private honor guard, which in all honestly Are wished he had for himself, but he was not the Kuni Shemasa by any factor, and required it not.

"Unit Two, am I able to move in on the target tomorrow or not?" Are asked patiently. Tomorrows mission was big, and it made everything work for the Secret Protocol objective they had launched with the Kuni Shemasa.

"Two confirms, the target will be there as intended," Unit Two reported, "You have a green light for that operation."

"Good," Are said, rubbing his chin. He paused for a moment, reviewing his options, "Make sure you're all prepared for tomorrow, because we're moving fast from that point on. Gather your gear and begin preparations at the site, I'll meet you at the rendezvous point as planned. Are out."

He terminated the connection just as the elevator reached the top floor. Placing the datapad into his pocket he walked out of the elevator, turning left to go towards the Kuni Shemasa's office. People looked over at him from their desks, some offering Okku, the rest going back to work. He returned the gesture in passing, smiling as he went.

Finally he reached the office of the Kuni Shemasa. He approached the secretary's desk, placing his hand on it.

"Hello there," Are said, smiling gently, "Can you please inform the Kuni Shemasa that Are Fayr is here to see him?"

"Yes, we've been expecting you," the secretary said, typing something into the terminal there, "Go on in, he's alone right now."

"Thank you" Are said, extending Okku to the secretary. He made the gesture back, and Are walked towards the door. He could hear the Kuni Shemasa arguing with someone loudly from beyond the door. Taking a breath, he opened the door to find the Kuni Shemasa standing on the desk, trying to swat at something on the ceiling.

"Yes, but there's no way of communicating that, is there?" The Kuni Shemasa yelled into his datapad, smashing his fist into the ceiling. Are looked up to see the remains of an insect where the fist of their leader had once been. The Kuni Shemasa stepped off the desk, motioning for Are to have a seat.

"Well, the pragmatic notions of the matter indicate that we should proceed regardless, so we'll do that," said a voice coming from the datapad, "Let us conclude here by saying the less weaponry out there, the better for our citizens. Taa'ku, Kuni Shemasa!"

"Yes, Taa'ku!" The Kuni Shemasa yelled, slamming down the datapad, "ARE! My friend, please tell me some good news, I've been expecting it all morning!"

Are laughed, "I have the following to report. Several new planets have been assessed by our office and won't be a security threat, as some imagined for the planet identified as 84556. We know their good hearted nature overrules their ambition for nefarious behaviour, and that was so in all our experiments on them. They will see the loyalty in their hearts that the Union deserves."

The Union was a collective federation of planets, and through it the leadership of ruling was maintained by the Kuni Shemasa, chosen over the other races for many reasons, but notably that Ysetsia began the formation of the Union long ago. It's full name was something unintelligible on the common tongue, an honor bestowed upon the Union by other beings within it. Some people, like Are, just called it the Union as opposed to it's common pet name, the Niknik, after the first two syllables in the full name.

"Yes, that's all fine and good, Are!" Huffed the Kuni Shemasa, "But I must know, what about our Secret Protocol agenda? I must make decisions today based on that knowledge!"

"You can only know that I have a time to serve now, and that I will not be with you for some time," Are said, blandly, "Nothing else can be reported, but your intuition will guide you on what takes place."

"Hmmmmm..." The Kuni Shemasa uttered, unimpressed by what was taking place, "So it is as I fathom, they mean business over there...Troubling! I condemn it all! You know, I'm making this a short meeting. I need to take care of some business here, Are, you put me in a mood for certain!"

"If I have your leave to go, I need to prepare things on my end," Are said, rising up. The Kuni Shemasa snorted, extending his hand for a shake. Are took it, and walked out of the room.

Hemman passed through the foliage, determined to make it to his objective. The war tribe of Ekseh was on approach to the Maverick Hunter Headquarters, on a mission to capture the legend himself, X.

The tribesmen followed Hemman vigorously, weary from the travel. They passed around some trees, and Hemman saw a mushroom growing from one of them. He paused to give it thanks, and moved on with the tribe. Mushrooms were considered sources of divine radiance to the Ekseh, and if time permitted he would have blessed it with a ritual, but for now they had to continue onward.

They reached the edge of the forest. Hemman signaled for the rest of the tribe to stop with a whistle, then grabbed his binoculars hanging from his waistbelt. He placed it up to his eyes, scanning the area. Looking left, he saw a group of reploids getting into their vessels. Looking right, he saw weapons being loaded into a big transport. Finally, among a group of speeders they saw X. He smiled, turning to his companions.

"Hetutu maneke!" He whispered excitedly.

The tribe began chanting something, one after the other joining into the same chant. Hemman chanted with them, turning towards X's direction again. He looked intently, waiting for the prominence. The Ekseh finished their chant with a loud "HUGAH!", and Hemman watched patiently. Finally, something began to show up on the binocular's, as though it were emanating from X. Then it was gone, and X seemed disturbed by it on screen.

"Ay shunah!" Hemman cried, "Ho shunak tem salas!"

The tribesmen began retreating a little. They would make camp here, confirming their finding, until X returned. They had intelligence he was going to fight an enemy, but they could not hope to catch up to him. They would wait, for certain.
