"What's that noise?" Gumball asked as he woke up. It was finally the day. His birthday was here. He's thirteen now.

"Maybe a party for you!" Darwin said, hopping out of his fish bowl.

"Oh, yeah! It's my birthday!" Gumball shot out of bed and ran downstairs.

"Happy birthday, son!" Richard said excitedly.

"Thanks, dad!"

Greyson and Naima were both crying while plugging their ears.

"Dad, turn the music down!" Gumball said.

Richard turned the volume down, "Whoops, sorry, kids."

The twins stopped plugging their ears and stopped crying after the music shut off.

"Either they hate loud noises or they hate the song," Gumball chuckled. Penny walked in the door, wearing a brown coat and grey pair of leggings.

"Woah, you look gorgeous," Gumball smiled.

"Thank you, Gummy," Penny kissed her boyfriend's lips as she reached him, "Happy birthday."

"Thank you," Gumball smiled.

Darwin and Anais walked downstairs with their clothes on, while Gumball was still wearing his night shirt and underwear.

"Gumball, get your clothes on! The bus will be here soon!" Anais scolded.

"Okay, okay!" Gumball said as he started upstairs into his room.

"So, what are we going to do for his birthday today?" Penny asked.

"I had a talk with Miss. Simian to try and get them to do something special, like the history of cats," Darwin explained, "She said she could on one condition: he has to beat Tina in a fight."

"That…doesn't sound fair," Anais said, "Tina is ten times Gumball's size."

"Yeah, that's why I declined," Darwin scratched the back of his head nervously.

Gumball came back downstairs with his Gumball shirt on, "Okay, I'm ready to go!"

"I like that shirt," Darwin said, "I want one."

"Ember probably has more," Gumball answered, "Now come on!"

Beep!

"There's the bus!" Gumball shouted as they ran outside with their bookbags on. They got on the bus and everyone had birthday party hats on, all wishing Gumball a happy birthday.

"Happy birthday, buddy!" yelled Banana Joe.

"Happy birthday, Gumball!" Alan exclaimed.

"Thanks, guys!" Gumball smiled as he sat down beside Penny, "Morning, Penny! I really like this necklace you got us. It's really pretty."

Penny smiled a little, "Thank you, Gummy."

"What's wrong? You seem a little sad," Gumball noted.

"Just a little tired," she replied.

"Did you not sleep last night?" he asked.

"No, no, I did," Penny answered, "I don't know what's wrong."

Gumball thought she was sick, so he felt her forehead, "If you're not sick, then maybe it's a cold. Is your throat itchy?"

Penny shook her head, "Nope."

"Hm," Gumball thought, "Let's ask Nurse Markham when we get to school."

"Alright," she replied with a smile. She laid her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes for relaxation.

When they reached the school, Nurse Markham checked Penny's temperature. It was normal, so she was sent back to class. During lunch, she would get easily angry and sad.

"What do peanuts do when they go crazy?" Banana Joe said, starting up a joke, "They go nuts!"

Penny was really offended by the joke and turned into a fire breathing dragon. Gumball tried to calm her down, but it only made it worse.

"Penny, calm down," Gumball demanded, "It was just a joke."

"So I'm a joke now??" Penny raged in anger.

"No, we never said that!" Gumball replied.

Penny got so mad, she caught the school on fire. Many was injured with 2nd degree burns and many had broken, fractured, and sprained injuries from trying to escape.

Penny sighed when the fire department arrived, "I-I don't know what happened…"

Gumball was one of the ones that escaped unharmed, and he tried cheering his girlfriend up, "Penny, it's okay. It's not your fault."

Ember walked up to them, limping on her left leg, "Penny, I think I know what's going on."

"What is it?" Gumball replied.

Before Ember replied, Darwin came raging out of the school with Anais' broken ankle, "Penny, what the heck happened in there?!"

"I'm sorry, Darwin, I-I didn't mean⸻"

"Don't apologize, it's not going to fix anything!" Darwin scolded, "Anais has a broken ankle because of you!"

"Darwin, stop!" Gumball yelled, "Bro, It's not her fault!"

"It is too her fault, and until you stop supporting her, don't call me your bro," Darwin stormed off in anger while carrying Anais.

Gumball could feel his heart snap into pieces when Darwin said that.

"Darwin, wait!" Penny called out, but it didn't work. Darwin continued walking.

"Ugh, this is all my fault!" Penny started a small sob as she sat on the ground. Her boyfriend lost his brother because of her.

Gumball sat beside her, trying not to sob, but his voice started breaking, "Penny, it's okay, I know it's not your fault."

Ember sighed, "Yeah, I'm certain it's what I'm thinking. Penny, Gumball, come with me to my house. I'll explain everything."

When they reached Ember's house, opening the door, Penny and Gumball walked over to the couch with Ember.

"It's quite simple really," Ember informed them, "But before I say it, Gumball, I have questions for you."

"Yeah?" he replied.

"Has Penny spent the night at your house yet?" she asked.

"Yes, a couple times, why?"

Ember nodded, "Yep, she's pregnant."

Gumball paused, "I'm sorry, what?"

"The mood swings, the exhaustion, it all makes sense," Ember explained, "Don't worry."

"I don't know how it happened," Gumball replied.

"A-Ask your mother," Ember replied nervously, "For the time being, Penny, you need to tell your father."

She sighed, "Alright…"

"Good luck," Ember smiled as Penny got up and left.

"Oh, Patrick is gonna kill me!" Gumball panicked.

"Don't worry, Gumball, he likes you now, remember?" Ember reminded him.

"That might be true, but he's unexpected somethings, who knows what he'll do!"

"Don't worry, Gumball," Ember replied, "If anything, Penny knows how to start an argument."

"Ember, that's not the point!" Gumball shouted so loud, it woke Ken up. He walked downstairs to see what the commotion was about.

"Gumball, listen⸻"

"No! All you did was worsen things ever since you got here! I don't want anymore of your help! I just want to undo everything!" Gumball stormed out of the house and down the street to his own. When he entered, he saw Nicole talking to Darwin while holding Anais.

"Gumball, come here," Nicole called out.

"Can't, busy," Gumball said as he walked upstairs.

"See what I mean!" Darwin shouted.

"Darwin, I'm sure we'll get him to listen to you," Nicole replied, "Just let him rest."

Darwin sighed, "Fine…"

In the bedroom upstairs, Gumball was sobbing into his pillow, trying to find out what went wrong.

"Why do you hate me, universe? Why!!"

Darwin peeked into the door and heard Gumball's quiet sobbing, "Gumball…?"

"Go away, Darwin, I'm busy right now."

"Gumball, I'm sorry for what I said. Ember texted me and told me about Penny. Congratulations, buddy."

"Thought I wasn't your brother, anymore."

"Gumball, stop."

"Why should I?" Gumball sat up and looked at his former brother, "Nobody cares, anyway."

"Gumball, I am your brother. I'm sorry for what I said earlier."

"Patrick is gonna kill me…"

"Why? You know Penny is good at arguments, she'll make him be happy for you two."

"Worst birthday ever."

Without hesitating, Darwin walked to Gumball and gave him a big, fat hug, "Please don't be sad, Gumball…because when you're sad…I'm sad…"

Gumball pushed him away, "Darwin, you broke my heart. You think it was Penny's fault she caught the school on fire??? She can't help it, Darwin! She turns into different creatures depending on her mood! And why did she get mad at the joke? Because she's pregnant, Darwin, the mood swings! Blame the stupid mood swings!" Gumball slammed his head back into the pillows and continued sobbing.

Before Darwin could speak, Penny busted through the door in joy, "Gumball, my dad's not mad!"

"Oh," Penny saw Gumball in the pillows, sobbing under the covers, "Gumball?" She headed over to him and sat down.

"He's mad at me because I yelled at him earlier," Darwin explained, "He says it's the worst day ever."

"Gumball, listen," Penny said as she sat beside Gumball, "I'm not mad, my dad's not mad, your family's not mad, you're not suspended, how is this the worst day ever?"

"I yelled at Ember…" Gumball replied, "I told her that she makes things worse…and that I didn't want her help…I didn't mean it!"

Ember busted through the door, breathing heavily as she had ran all the way down there, "I found a solution! I came up with a potion that will undo a destruction, like, an undo button! That mean's the school will be back up!"

"That's awesome, Ember!" Darwin exclaimed.

"See, Gumball? You didn't make things worse," Penny said as she rubbed her boyfriend's back.

"Penny's right, Gumball," Ember responded, "In fact, when you left earlier, it gave me an idea. When you said you wanted to undo everything, I thought about an undo potion! Therefore, you actually saved the school!"

Gumball wiped his tears and turned to Ember, "R-Really?"

Ember nodded, "Yeah! I know you didn't mean it, Gumball, it's alright. Tell you what, what's your favorite hobby?"

"Adventures," Gumball replied, "Like, finding out who likes what and finding drama, stuff like that."

"Tomorrow at school, let's try and find someone who likes…cold things!" Ember suggested, "Let's get your mind relaxed."

"Yeah, I am overwhelmed right now," Gumball nodded, "I guess that will help."

"See, Gumball? The universe doesn't hate you at all!" Penny said, "Come to my house, my dad wants to invite you for dinner."

"Okay," Gumball replied with a smile.

The dinner…

The front door opened as Gumball and Penny held hands in front of it, Patrick Fitzgerald standing there with a smile.

"Good evening, Gumball!" he greeted, "Come on in!"

"Uh, okay," Gumball said, confused on why Patrick of all people was treating him nicely.

When they entered the house, they went to the dinner table where Mrs. Fitzgerald, Penny's mom, was fixing lasagna.

"So, uh," Gumball said, nervously, "W-Why did you invite me? Is there a twist coming? Are you mad at me?"

"Of course not, Gumball," Patrick replied, "Congratulations, by the way!"

"T-Thanks," he replied.

Penny frowned, "Why do you seem so nervous?"

"This has to be a dream…I should wake up soon, right?" Gumball asked.

"Gumball, silly, it's not a dream," Penny assured, "This is as real as me and you."

"Pinch me!"

Penny pinched her boyfriend slightly as he woke up in shock, "I didn't do anything! I swear!"

"Uh, what?" Darwin asked.

Gumball sighed in relief, "Oh, thank goodness! What's today??"

"Uh, your birthday?" Darwin replied in confusion.

"Oh, right, I-I knew that!" Gumball replied in a nervous tone as he scratched the back of his ear, "Where's Penny?"

"She came here but saw you were asleep so she left," Darwin replied.

"I need to call her!" Gumball said, "Where did I come from before I fell asleep?"

"Uh, Ember's house?"

"Oh, right!" Gumball darted outside of the door, bumping into his girlfriend, "Penny!"

"Hey, Gumball," she said, "I have some news…"

Gumball sighed, "Let me guess, he hates me now."

Penny nodded, "And I have to switch schools now."

"What the what?!" Gumball shouted, "You can't do that!"

"I also have to abort the child," Penny told him.

"You're crazy!"

"No, but my dad is," Penny looked down at the ground.

"Penny…I'm sorry…"

"Gumball, it's not your fault. I'll always love you," Penny hugged Gumball tight and gave him a kiss.

"I-I don't know what to do…" Gumball said, "I'll miss you like crazy…"

Penny could hear Gumball's silent sobbing and told him, "Gumball, I'll try to get him to change his mind. I might move out and move in with you. I'll do whatever I can."

"But your family…"

"Gumball, if my family is mad at another family member, then I have no choice to move in with the family member."

Gumball looked up at Penny, "I'm…family?"

"Always was and always will be."

Gumball smiled a little and wiped away his tears, "Good luck," he said, "My beautiful fairy angel."

Penny smiled before she exited the room.

"Awww," Darwin said as he walked up to Gumball.

"Darwin…are you still my brother…?"

"Yes, buddy, of course," Darwin smiled and hugged Gumball.

At Penny's house…

"I told you to stay away from him!" Patrick yelled, "You're too young to be pregnant! You don't understand the danger and risk in this, Penelope!"

"No," Penny argued, "You don't understand." Penny grabbed a suitcase and opened the front door.

"Penny, where are you going?" Patrick asked.

"Anywhere but here," Penny said before leaving and heading down the street.

She walked up to the Watterson's house and knocked on the door, as Nicole had answered it, "Oh, hey Penny, what's with the suitcase?"

"I'm your new roommate. I'm going to see Gumball. My dad wants me to abort my child, but I'm not doing it."

"Wait, what?" Nicole froze in shock, "You're…pregnant?"

"Gumball didn't tell you?"

Nicole shook her head, "No, he didn't."

"I'm gonna go talk to him, is that okay?" Penny asked.

"Yes, of course," Nicole smiled as Penny made her way through the door and upstairs. She knocked on the bedroom door to hear Gumball sobbing.

"Come on, dude, Penny still loves you," Darwin said, comforting his brother, "She said it herself."

Penny opened the door with a wide smile, "Hello, new roommates."

Gumball jumped out of bed and ran to Penny, hugging her tight, "Penny…you're moving in…?"

Penny nodded as she let go, "My dad doesn't understand, so yes."

"Oh, Penny, I'm sorry," he said.

"Ken, stop!" Ember yelled as they fell inside of the bedroom though the window.

"Ember?" Gumball called out.

"Uh, surprise?" Ember replied, nervously.

"Just to make sure this wasn't apart of the dream, did I yell at you?"

"Yes, but don't worry, you gave me an idea. When you said you wish you could undo everything, I came up with this potion that can undo the school's destruction!" Ember explained, "I should thank you, Gumball! And I know you didn't mean it."

"Thank you, Ember," Gumball said gracefully.

"Alright, let's head downstairs. I've been planning something for you," Ember said as she led them downstairs.

"Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you!" the family sang, "Happy birthday dear Gumball! Happy birthday to you!"

"Thank you all for this," Gumball said, "I appreciate it."

Nicole walked up to Gumball and hugged him, "Congratulations, honey. I heard about you becoming a father."

"Thanks, mom," Gumball said, "Thank you all."

"I have a little something before I leave this world," Ember said, "I know I just got here, but I have things to do on Earth, so, Gumball," Ember turned to Gumball, "I hereby give you the key to the MK Factory, you can enter it anytime you need a potion. Each potion has its own label, and description of what it does. I already thought of everything."

"You're…leaving?" Gumball asked.

"Sorry, Gumball," Ember sighed.

Gumball went in for a hug, "Take care, karate champ," he winked. Ember giggled and waved as she leaped into a small portal that opened beside them.

"I'm gonna miss her," Nicole said.

"Me, too," Penny responded as she put her arm around Gumball and smiled, "Me, too."
