Dear Diary,
Today has been the best day of my life (except for the fact that Lily came home). Vernon Dursley asked me to the dance at my school. Vernon Dursley is a little plump but makes up for it with strong muscles, an education, and the talent to charm me. He is picture perfect and he has finally asked me to the Valentine's Day Dance. He said he has always had a crush on me and that is sooooo ironic because I've always had a crush on him. He started the conversation by saying "I really like that dress you're wearing Petunia." And then we started talking about the real world and about how only the smart and clever people can live in it and how only "the weird kind" imagine things and pretend things. He is so like me on that point. If he met Lily he would totally hate her, like me. He is such the perfect guy for me.
Dear Diary,
I know this is the same day but something really gross happened just a minute ago. When I walked in the house to tell Mom and Dad, guess who was there. Just guess. The one person who could just make every joy in the world go cold. Lily was home being her usual perfect self hogging Mom and Dad. Except this time there was a strange boy about Lily's age. He had circular glasses and had really messy hair. He was dressed in a "Hogwarts" robe just like Lily and was looking at her as if she was his greatest joy in the world. Then I knew, he must be Lily's boyfriend. I was half right. He was actually a lifesize model of a boy at her school who she said was named James Potter and had a total crush on her. He had done a "spell" so that this model of him would follow her around until 24 hours had passed. I can no believe it! Lily has guys following her. I should have known. If I got a guy that I liked she would get tons of guys that liked her. This is so unfair. Today was supposed to be my perfect day!
