As always Dawn Summers was sitting by her window alone, watching the world go by. She watched as busy moms pushed buggy's with screaming infants in them, business men scurrying down the road while talking furiously into their cell phones and children playing in the street, laughing and screaming. Dawn envied them because they were blissfully unaware of any dangers that may be lurking around. As she was the slayers sister, she knew pretty much when something was going on in the demon world. This had advantages and disadvantages.
Advantages- She was prepared if something attacked her.
Disadvantages- Buffy would be so wrapped up in it all that she would barely notice Dawn.
Dawn got up from her place at the window and went downstairs to where Buffy and the rest of the Scooby gang were deep in research mode. Obviously there was another big bad in town. Only Willow looked up as Dawn entered the room.
"Hey Dawnie, how you doin?"
"I'm ok" Dawn replied without giving the question much thought.
"Buffy can I go over to Janice's house to study?" she asked her big sis.
Without looking up, Buffy replied "Ok but be back by 7pm".
Dawn left the house but with no intention of going over to Janice's to study. She walked around the town in deep thought. She was going to show Buffy that she wasn't a kid anymore, that she doesn't always follow the rules. She wanted a guy to show her how.
