Chapter 20-

AN- I am board out of my mind so I decided to go ahead and post another chapter. Enjoy.

"Harry, *sniff* what am I going to do? Everybody hates us now." said Hermione as she tried her hardest to stop crying. This was not supposed to happen!"

"Shhh, I know. It's okay. Everything will be okay." Harry said, gently tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear.

They were sitting in front of the fire and he was holding her in an attempt to get her to stop crying. He was rocking her and rubbing comforting circles on her back.

Harry jumped when he heard the portrait hole open and he turned to look and see who it was. Draco was standing right behind them. Draco cleared his throat and Hermione looked up. When she recognized who it was, she jumped up and ran to him.

He wrapped his arms around her and held her. "It's okay. We will figure this out. I promise." he whispered in her ear. "Look, we were going to tell everyone anyway, it just happened sooner than we thought it would. Right?"

Hermione smiled faintly and nodded. Then Draco reached a hand up and brushed away a spare tear.

"I love you and that's all that matters." Draco said.

"I love you too."

"Hey, now that everyone knows, we don't have to hide it anymore. We can be together in public."

She nodded again and he leaned down and gave her a gentle kiss on her forehead.

The next day, Hermione and Draco decided that they weren't even going to try to hide it. They walked hand in hand to the Great Hall.

Hermione was so nervous. She wanted to go back to her room and hide from all of the mean and disappointed looks from everyone. But she was going because she knew she would have to face the music sooner or later. And as the cliché goes, there's no time better than the present.

When they reached the doors to the Great Hall, they paused. Draco looked at Hermione and asked, "Are you ready for this?"

"I guess." she replied as Draco escorted her through the doors. They walked in the doors hand in hand. "Wait, where are we going to sit?"

"Uh, I don't know." he replied as he skimmed the room. He saw two seats at the Gryffindor table across from Potter and Weasley. They were definitely less hostile than the Slytherins, so he pulled her towards the two seats.

The seats were right in the middle of the Gryffindor table, but it was much better than the alternative, even thought he hated both Saint Potter and his Sidekick Weasel. When they sat down they noticed that they were the focus of everyone's attention once again.

Draco sneered at everyone who was looking at them, and the people immediately looked away. Draco skimmed the room and noticed that the majority of the glares were coming from the Gryffindors and Slytherins.

"How are you doing today, Hermione?" asked Harry, trying to break to awkward silence.

"Okay. How are you doing, Harry?" she replied.

"Fine."

"That's good. So what are you guys doing today?" she asked.

"Well, we were going to hold Quidditch practice, but the Slytherin team has to train their new Keeper." replied Ron in a slightly annoyed voice.

"Sorry 'bout that, Weasley. I have got to train him up good so that we can beat the Ravenclaws in a couple weeks." Draco replied.

"Whatever." he said before he continued to eat his breakfast.

"What are you doing today, 'Mione?" asked Harry.

"Well, Draco has got Quidditch today so I think I am going to take a nap. We decided that we would go to Hogsmeade tomorrow instead of today." she replied. "Would you guys like to hang out with me later?"

"Sure, 'Mione." they both said at the same time.

Breakfast went by really slowly for both Hermione and Draco. Nobody has said anything about them yet, but they were getting death glares from all over the Great Hall.

When breakfast was finally over, Hermione and Draco separated. Draco was on his way to the Quidditch pitch, and Hermione was headed to her room.

"I will meet you guys in the Gryffindor common room in three hours. I want to get a couple hours of sleep." Hermione said as she ran out of the common room.

"Okay." they both yelled behind her.

Hermione ran out of the room and headed to her common room. When she got there she said Marshmallow and went inside. She noticed that the room was pitch-black. 'That's odd.' she thought as she walked through the room. 'The fire place is always on and Draco never turns any of the lights off.'

She saw a figure move in the darkness and fear overcame her. "Draco?" she choked. Then a hand clasp over her mouth, she tried to struggle, but the person was just to strong for her.

Then, another figure appeared in front of her. Hermione was now scared out of her wits. The moonlight shone on the person in front of her and Hermione could tell that it was a girl and the girl was pointing her wand at her.

The person whispered a spell and a green light erupted from the end of her wand. Hermione immediately thought it was the killing curse. She tried to scream but there was a hand covering her mouth. Then the green light hit her…..

AN-I think I will end it here. Poor Hermione….

Then the green light hit her, but she didn't die. Instead when she opened her eyes and saw that she was in a full body bind. She looked up just in time to see the girl in front of her lift her hand and slap her.

Hermione still struggled to get away, but it was hopeless. The person was still holding her and she was in a full body bind. Then, she was hit over the head and she was plunged into darkness.

"Come on Hermione, lets go." Draco yelled up the stairs.

"I'm coming." Hermione replied from the top of the stairs. Then five minutes later she walked down to join Draco. He looked up at her and smiled. 'She looks sexy as always.' he thought as he offered her an arm.

Hermione slide her arm through his and they left. "Where are we going?" she asked as they walked towards the entrance hall doors.

"What? You know we are going to Hogmeade to get the stuff for the dance." he replied in a confused voice.

"Yes, I knew that. I was just wondering where we were going to…eat." Hermione said.

"Uh, okay. I was thinking we should go to the same place we went last time."

"Great idea. Let's go."

~In Hogsmeade~

"Can we go in here, Draco?" Hermione asked as she pointed to another jewelry store.

"No! We went to three already. Why are you being so annoying today?" he asked. He was really getting irritated with her. She was constantly wining and clinging to him, which would normally be good but it just was different.

"But Drakie, I wanna go in there." She wined.

"Fine, but I am going to go pick up the decorations. When you are finished, I will meet you at the restaurant." he snapped as he sauntered off down the alley.

"But Drakie, I wanted you to bye your little girl something." she said, but Draco was not listening. He just watched his feet as he neared his destination.

'I don't know what her problem is. She must be drunk.' he thought.

"Can we go now? This is getting boring." Hermione said after spending ten minutes in the garden.

"But…I thought that you liked my garden, and I have something to tell you."

"Tell me later. Right now I want to kiss you." she said in a savage, seductive voice.

"What? Hermione, what is wrong with you today? You are acting like a totally different person." Draco said.

"Draco, I think we should break up. I have been trying to get you to break up with me all day, but since you refuse, I must do the honors." Hermione said.

"What?!" he asked in a surprised and angry voice.

"We are over. I should have never thought a relationship between us would work out. I hate you. You have treated me like crap before, now I got you back. By the way, I slept with both Potter and Weasley when we were going out. Goodbye. Oh, and don't ever talk to me again." she said as she walked out of the gardens.

Draco just stood there starting at her departing figure. 'What is going on? I hate her! She's nothing but a stupid, slutty Mudblood! How could I have ever trusted anything that is so beneath me?'

*****************************************************

The next two days were rocky. Draco and Hermione never spoke to each other, and Hermione secluded herself from all of her friends. Harry and Ron tried to stop by and console her, but she just insulted them and made them go away.

On the other hand, she wasn't totally secluding herself from everyone. She had the attention of many of the boys at Hogwarts. She played them all. She would get what she wanted, and then she would dump them like yesterday's news.

Hermione's schoolwork also went on the downhill slide. Her grades got worse and worse and she began skipping classes. All of the teachers were getting worried, Harry and Ron hated her, Draco wouldn't even look at her, and all the boys at school wanted her.
