After Hermione and Draco were named King and Queen of the Halloween Ball, the rest of the day went pretty smoothly. Hermione felt like she was in some kind of wonderful dream. Everyone would come up to her in the hall and congratulate her or tell her how beautiful she looked. She never in a million years imagined that so many people would think that she was beautiful, the thought never even crossed her mind.

Draco and Hermione were walking past the transfiguration room when they heard their names being called by Professor McGonogall. They stopped and turned around

"Yes Professor?" Hermione asked when they entered the classroom.

"I just wanted to personally congratulate you and say that I thought your costumes were totally amazing!" the professor replied energetically.

"Thank you professor." they both said.

"It was all Hermione's idea. She looked up all of the spells and came up with the costume ideas." Draco said in a proud voice. "My little genius." he said as he patted her on the head.

"Draco!" Hermione scolded. "Thank you professor. It was a lot of fun!"

"Well, you did a very good job. The decorations were fabulous!"

"Yeah, Draco bought all of the decorations. That was when Pansy and Brent…you know." Hermione said, looking at her feet at the end.

"Yes, well great job. Have a good day." McGonogall said.

"Thanks, see you later." they both said and they left the room.

"Why did you call me that Draco Malfoy?" Hermione said when they were out past the room. "How embarrassing!"

"But 'Mione, you are my little genius!" he said in a high-pitched, squeaky voice.

"Stop it!" she demanded.

"Fine. You are no fun."

"Good."

They continued walking down the hall in silence. They had no where to go, so they were just walking.

'I need to tell her…but what am I going to say? That letter…'

~Flashback~

Draco walked into his room after breakfast and pulled out the letter from his pocket. 'Here goes nothing…'

Dear Mr. Malfoy,

I have not heard from you in a long time, but you will be happy to know that I have great plans for you. I have heard many things about you from your fellow Slytherins and normally I would be appalled with you for taking up with a Mudblood, but you will be happy to know that it is destiny. Not only is she not a Mudblood, but she is the daughter of none other than myself. I cannot tell you more, and I think it is best that you keep this to yourself for the time being. I want to have a meeting with you this week. Please join me at the Shrieking Shack on next Saturday.

The Best, Your Lord.

'Oh NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'

~End Flashback~

"Hermione, can we go for a walk?"

"Sure, why?"

"I-I just want to talk."

"Oh, okay."

"Why don't we just make it a picnic? You know, by the lake?"

"Sounds good, let's go."

Thirty minutes later, they had gotten food, a blanket, and were sitting by the lake.

When they finished eating, Hermione turned to Draco. "What did you want to talk to me about?" she asked.

"Oh, umm…I was…umm…I was wondering if you would like to come spend winter vacation with me? Yeah…What do you think?" he lied.

"But, Draco…your father…"

"My father is in Azkaban. We will have the whole house to ourselves. I thought it could be fun."

"Oh, well I kind of wanted to see my parents over vacation," she paused for a second before continuing. "Hey I know, why don't we go to my house for the first half of the vacation and then we can spend the rest at yours. Okay?"

"Will it be okay with your parents? I mean, you having a boy over?"

"I think they will, I will owl them tonight. Well, that is if you want to…"

"Of coarse, I would love to meet your parents. Do they know who I am?"

"Well, they know all of the things you have done to me before this year." she said quietly.

"At least they have never seen me, so we can pretend that wasn't me." Draco said.

"Actually, they saw you at Diagon Alley second year."

"Oh great! They already hate me!"

"No, I will write them and explain everything."

"Well, at least it will be an interesting vacation."

*****************************************************

"Well, I have to go meet Harry and Ron for a little while, see you later." Hermione said when they got back to the school.

"Do you have too?"

"Yes, I promised. I will see you tonight. Bye."

"Fine, but you are so going to make it up to me later."

"Deal," she said as she kissed him on the lips and walked towards the Gryffindor Common room.

Draco waved and went to his room. 'Why didn't I tell her? What the bloody hell am I going to do now!' he yelled to himself.

Hermione walked into the portrait hole and looked around for Harry and Ron. 'Where are they? They said to meet them here at five and here I am. They have no idea what punctuality is. Boys!' she thought as she walked over to a couch and took a seat.

Five minutes later, the portrait hole burst open and Harry and Ron burst in. They were both breathing heavily and Harry was holding his invisibility cloak.

Ron took a deep breath then said, "Where is she?"

"I ~deep breath~ dunno." Harry replied.

Hermione ducked down and listened to the two boys.

"That was awesome. Filch is going to love these new and improved dung bombs! I really thought we were going to get caught. I swear Snape was right there waiting for us."

"Yeah, it was like so scary. We had to wait there forever! Hermione probably left already."

Suddenly they heard someone giggling by the fire place and they paused. "Hey, who's there?" Harry asked as they began walking towards the couch.

"It's just me. So, you guys went to Hogsmeade again?" Hermione said as she stood up.

"Uh, yeah."

"So, what did you guys want to talk to me about."

"Well, we were wondering if you would like to come and spend Christmas Vacation with me and Harry--" Ron said.

"Harry and I." Hermione cut in.

"Fine, I was wondering if you would like to spend Christmas Vacation with Harry and I at the Burrow?"

"Oh, well I kind of promised that I would spend Christmas Vacation with Draco…" Hermione replied.

"Why don't you bring him with you?" Harry said quickly.

"What?!" Ron yelled.

"Great idea Harry!" Hermione said at the same time.

"It is?" Ron squeaked.

"Yeah, is it's okay with you, Ron." Hermione replied.

"What? Yeah, it's okay I guess…." Ron said quickly.

"Okay, Draco and I will go to my house for a week, his house for a week and then second the last week at the Burrow with you guys!" Hermione said excitedly.

"Oh, okay." Ron mumbled.

"Cool! This vacation is going to be great!" Hermione said as she hugged both boys and gave them each a peck on the cheek. "I am going to go tell Draco, Bye!"

"Bye!" Harry yelled.

Ron on the other hand, said nothing. He just watched her leave then he turned to his best friend. "What in the hell is wrong with you!?" he yelled.

"What? What did I do?"

"YOU INVITED MALFOY!!"

"So? I really wanted her to come."

"I want her to come, but I don't want her new boyfriend to come!"

"Why? I thought you were over her."

"Well I'm NOT!" Ron yelled without thinking.

"You aren't?" Harry asked quietly.

"Umm, I guess I'm not." Ron said quietly.

"I'm sorry. If I would have known, I wouldn't have invited him."

"I know, it's okay. You know how weird it will be to have a Malfoy in a house full of Weasley's?"

"Yeah, that is going to be weird."

"Well, I better owl my mom, she will want to know."

"I'll go with you."

"Okay."

~Hermione and Draco~

"Hey Draco, guess what?" Hermione said as she enter their room.

"What?"

"You are supposed to guess."

"Just tell me."

"Fine, I have our whole winter vacation planned."

"I thought it already was planned."

"Well, things changed."

"Huh?"

"Okay, the vacation is like three and a half hours long, right?" Draco nodded. "Okay, first week we go to my house, second week and a half we go to your house, then the last week we are going to stay at the Burrow." Hermione said excitedly.

"The What?"

"The Burrow, Ron's house."

"What?!"

"The Burrow, Ron'--"

"I know what you said, but why?!"

"He invited us."

"I could not possibly spend an entire week with a house full of Weasels!"

"But Draco, I want to go. It could be fun." she said in the most pouty voice she could manage.

"Fine, but if you tell anyone I will never talk to you again!"

"Deal!" she said suddenly brightening up. "his is going to be so much FUN! I can't wait!"

"Yeah, me either." Draco said with absolutely no enthusiasm or excitement whatsoever.
