One day, Zeus was walking through the woods, at the bottom of his kingdom, up on Mount Olympus; he was walking past a fast moving river. Hera had been nagging him all day, so he needed to get away for a while. Before now, Zeus had never cheated on his wife. Tempted many times, but never followed through with it.
As he was walking he ran into a nymph, she was sitting on a rock in the middle of the river, she was beautiful. Her long beautiful strawberry blonde hair flowed over her pale skin. Zeus walked up to her slowly, smiling to himself he said "hello" to the girl, startling her.
"Oh, I didn't expect anyone to be here, hello" she said jumping up; she wore a long green dress.
Zeus took a step closer and said "I am Zeus, the king-god; you are the most fair woman I have seen. Won't you please be with me?" he said looking into her bright green eyes. The girl blushed and said "What about Hera? She is your wife" she looked at him.
Zeus said "Well, she will never know, she is up the mountain" he said leaning in to kiss her.
Hera was indeed on the mountain. But she had been suspicious for years of Zeus's un-true love. She was spying on him. Seeing him with another woman, she stormed down the mountain angrily.
Mean while, a young woman was watching her friend (the nymph named: Melody) and Zeus. She then looked at the Mountain and saw Hera storming down it. She began to fear what may happen, so she walked up to the goddess and bowed said "Oh fair Hera, Zeus was just looking for you"
"Looking for me?" Hera said "You must be mistaking my husband for someone else" she said trying to look past the girl.
"No, Zeus said "I'm looking for my dear wife, Hera, we fought and I need to apologize, have you seen her?" And I said "No, I'm sorry" then he walked away up the mountain, looking rather disappointed" said the woman lying.
"Oh!" Hera said looking shocked "Well I suppose miracles do happen, Thank you, good bye" she said rushing back up the mountain, when she got there and saw Zeus was no where to be seen, she yelled. "That horrible wretched woman!" she glared down the mountain and rushed back down. Feeling stupid for falling for the trick. She found the girl and said "You horrible girl! You lied to me! You will have a horrible punishment, you will rot in Tortuous, and have you voice eaten out by a raven every day!" She said as the girl disappeared in a flash of light. She stormed past there and to Zeus and Melody, she pulled Melody away from Zeus and said "You are horrible people" she glared at them and pointed at the nymph "You punishment is death! I'll let Hades think of a punishment worthy for a witch like you!" she said as the girl disappeared with a bit of smoke left over, Zeus realized what just happened. He yelled so loud, it caused the biggest thunderstorm the world has seen. Poseidon helped; he crashed big, huge waves onto shore, one going completely over Greece. Zeus threw his biggest lightning bolts to earth, the storm was so horrible, and the Earth went tilted on an axis.
That's why Earth is tilted on an axis. Also, the reason why Zeus had many lovers, to fulfill his first lost love.
