Not quite a sequel; one possible continuation o f 'Just Diana'
J'onn was at his usual post in the watchtower observation gallery when he noticed an alert for one of the more unusual code activations. This particular code was red-flagged because activation usually meant high levels of arrogance and recklessness, or in some cases extreme frustration. All required his attention. J'onn pushed the button that brought the practice room cameras on screen. The emotions currently broadcasting through the entire tower left little doubt as to image he would see, but the viciousness of the attacks startled even him.
Diana was on screen pummeling one of the computer simulations in a decidedly unsportsmanlike fashion. This particular simulation, programmed with all its designer's martial arts knowledge, was designed to take even the metas down a few notches. J'onn wondered if Diana knew just how many records she was beating as she punctuated savage attacks with words and phrases he hadn't heard her use before. Curious, he looked them up and was rather surprised by the definitions.
It was not his practice to pry into the minds of his teammates, but it would have been difficult to ignore the thoughts Diana was projecting through the watchtower. He was so engrossed in the battle and its implications that he didn't notice the second presence in the room for several moments.
"How long has she been at it?"
"Seventeen minutes and 24 seconds since I switched to this screen."
"She's upset."
"That is a fair assessment."
"Has she done this before?"
Considering the source of the request, J'onn didn't thing it would constitute an invasion of privacy to check the records on this particular code.
"Only once, when the program was first added to the system. Her scores were not as high that day."
"Do you know what this is about?"
"You do not?"
"I have a few ideas."
"I will not pry into the minds of others for you or anyone else, Batman, but I will tell you this: Diana continually curses something called 'People Magazine.' I believe its writers were most recently invited to enjoy the deepest pits of Tartarus."
"The idea does have some merit."
"If you don't mind some friendly advice-"
"J'onn-"
"-I suggest that the two of you work this out before it comes to someone else's attention."
J'onn watched as Bruce left the room. He had observed his teammates' growing romantic attractions with interest. Bruce and Diana proceeded more slowly than John and Shayera certainly, but were still headed down the same path. He did not understand their hesitation and frustration. Despite years of experience, some human behaviors were still a mystery. With one last look at the battle on screen, J'onn switched to a pleasant view of the earth from orbit.
