Raindrops

DISCLAIMER: Don't own any of it

A/N: Just some harmless fluff :P Set in season 5, but not any time in particular. I've written loads of Snickers fic, and I felt like a change, so here it is. Hope ya like! Oh and especially you Beci!

Like long bony fingers, the rain played its music on the window, a distracting sound, but one that Sara Sidle was used to. Not that it rained all that much in Vegas, in fact, more often than not she was busy moaning about how hot it was. The weather outside was pretty much how Sara felt… blah. It's how she'd felt for a few days now, since she had had such a big argument with Catherine. Not that this was the first time. When they first met, almost 5 years ago, Catherine and Sara had not gotten along at all. But it seemed Catherine was bitchier than ever now days, and she seemed to take it all out on Sara.

The team had finished work on time, for once, but now it meant there was nothing to do. She'd already had dinner, tidied the house a little, taken a nap and watched TV. And now, here she was sat by the window, mindlessly watching raindrops falling from the sky. The dull, grey, cloudy sky. Yes, that was exactly how she felt; no way could she explain it better. If Sara was a cartoon, a rain cloud would constantly be drawn above her head.

"Sara?" She turned, seeing a familiar face in the doorway, "I knocked… when you didn't answer, and I saw the door was open, I came in… you don't mind do you?"

"Did you close the door?"

Grissom nodded, walking towards Sara, who went back to staring out of the window again. He hated seeing her like this, when she was usually such a strong person. Catherine had got to her… again. Catherine was like that. Not that Grissom didn't love her, she was a great friend, but she had certain qualities which weren't always good. He was pretty sure Sara was more upset for fighting with her friend than actually at the stage of hating Catherine.

"You okay?" He leant on the wall, not wanting to sit without an invite. Not that there was anywhere to sit anyway, Sara was on the only clear chair in the room.

"Grissom," She turned, opening her mouth as if to say something, but then quickly closing it again.

"Yes?"

Sara shook her head, brushing her hair back behind her ears, and rubbing her eyes. Grissom cocked his head slightly to one side, watching her, thinking. Even in the state she was in now, there was no denying that Sara Sidle was one beautiful woman. Grissom smiled to himself.

"Come here," Sara looked puzzled at Grissom's request.

"What…?"

"Don't say anything, just come here," Deadly serious, Grissom's usual expression.

She didn't know what to think, but it couldn't be much worse than sitting alone doing nothing, so slowly she stood up and walked over to Grissom, keeping eye contact all the way, as did he. The closer she got, the more her heart pounded, and the more twisted her stomach seemed to be. It seemed like ages, yet it could only have been a few seconds before she was stood directly in front of Grissom, looking deeply into his eyes. He put his hand in hers.

"What are you doing?" She said softly, though not complaining or moving her hand away .

"What I should have done ages ago,"

Not another word spoken, he pulled Sara into him, pressing his lips to hers, feeling her heart beating as fast as his, both of them completely lost in the moment, until breathlessly pulling away. Unable to say a word, Sara fell into Grissom's arms, feeling the comfort and warmth that she'd wanted from him for so long. And nothing could interrupt them, not even raindrops playing their tune.
