Setting: This is 7th year, Hermione and Draco are Head Boy/Girl. An interesting opportunity arises that is going to make these enemies understand a little more about each other.
Hermione was busy with her head girl duties, posting a newsletter on the Gryffindor common room notice board. Her bushy blonde hair quickly moving from left to right as she scanned the notice after she had pinned it up.
Do you have the urge to make a new friend? Do you find yourself stuck in the same group day in and day out? Then join our new Penpal program, all you do is send us a list of people you'd rather stay away from and we will set you up with a friend close to your location. The objective of this is to start a romance, so you will be dealing with witches/wizards depending. The best part is… Since we have a list of who you hate, there is no chance you'll have to deal with them. However the catch is that, you can't tell them who you are, who/what you're parents are, or… in the event of a school based connection you cannot tell them what house you are in or your status (e.g.: Head Boy, etc.). Send all applications to "New Lives Main Office, Dufftown."
Hermione looked at it, she already had Viktor so what was the point. Close to home though. That could be nice, I would love to meet somebody new… Maybe it'll become more then that.
She sat down and wrote out a list of people she would rather not be friends with, ironically enough all Slytherins. Then sent it.
After 24 hours, all the submissions were in. Little did all the participants know, this was actually a contest to see who would spark a relationship if they didn't know who they were talking to. Bigger catch is that, the person you're to be conversing with is on your hate list. At the main office of the New Lives program the first pair was set up, a girl who's topped her hate list with Draco Malfoy and a boy who's topped his list with Hermione Granger.
The Saturday following submissions day, all the students who had entered were deeply deciding what to write and were repeatedly scratching out things to avoid breaking the rules. The contest was to start off with the wizards writing to the witches. So everyone was desperately waiting for the first piece of mail. Hermione passed Malfoy in the Head Student's dormitories; she was oddly surprised to notice that he was holding a letter in his hand. She was some glad it wasn't destined for her. A few hours later, while near the fireplace Hermione's first letter cleared the screening process.
To whomever I am conversing with,
I would have liked to give an introduction, but since it is not allowed… I figured that I would just include a description (How gentlemanly thought Hermione). I am a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, I am about 5' 8" and have blonde hair (A little tall, but we are both in this building and have blonde hair). I am a generally calm person, I hate those who misinterpret knowledge and those who consider my knowledge insulting (Oh, he's so perfect). I have grey-blue eyes and hope that you will write back quickly.
Hopefully, Your écrivante
This guy seemed perfect to Hermione; they had so much in common. She began to mould into the armchair as she imagined what this guy might look like, she pictured his delightful french accent, and his rippling blonde hair. She picked up the ink bottle from the table dipped a quill in it and wrote a new letter to her dream guy, while Draco Malfoy waited in the great hall for a response.
