Author's Beginning Notes: This is my second Lost one-shot, and it's set within the episode "Outlaws," so beware of spoilers. I hope you enjoy this story and please leave a review; the feedback would be highly appreciated.
"I never married."
Kate remembers the bright sheen on her fiancé's dark tuxedo, his pure smile of cloaked promises. She remembers her wedding dress, how it captured the light that day, infuriating the sun. Kate remembers cake that tasted bittersweet, although at the time she couldn't figure out why. She remembers the translucent rainbow of the cathedral's stained glass windows, how they both amazed and frightened her. Kate remembers the endless maze of wrinkles on the priest's face, the way his voice seemed to echo. She remembers a wedding of white and lavender, bundled up with so many hopes and dreams broken and dashed away far too quickly.
"It didn't last long."
Author's Ending Notes: I hope you enjoyed that short one-shot, and please remember to leave a review behind; I would greatly appreciate the feedback.
