A/N I wrote this before Jack was promoted so some things may not be consistent with the show. Let's just say it will hopefully lead to something between Sam and "you know who."

Samantha sighed; she hadn't seen Jack since he had been promoted to Brigadier General.
He hadn't been able to go on a mission since.
She, on the other hand, had been stuck on a mission for six months.
She smiled, he was probably grumbling about the paperwork right now.
Cheyenne Mountain Complex"Why do generals have to do so much paperwork!" Jack grumbled. "Maybe I should get myself demoted."
"What was that?" General Hammond said as he came into the room.
"Ah, nothing sir" Jack said quickly.
Part 2
Cheyenne Mountain Complex
(Stargate dialing) "Off world activation" said the nameless Sergeant. "It's SG1 sir."
"Open the Iris." Replied Hammond.
"Incoming wormhole"
Jack rushed in. "Where's Carter?"
"Thanks for the welcome Jack." Daniel replied sarcastically.
"Major Carter will be here momentarily O'Neill. Informed Teal'c.
"Hello sir." Sam said to Jack as she stepped off the platform.
"Mission briefing in half an hour." General Hammond informed.
