Sasuke narrowed his eyes at Naruto as the blonde yawned while cracking his fingers.
"Dobe," Sasuke started. "Don't do that."
Naruto looked at the raven-haired. "Do what? Yawn?"
Sasuke rolled his eyes. "Crack your fingers."
Naruto narrowed his eyes as he glared suspiciously at his rival-cum-best friend. "Why?"
Sasuke sighed. "Haven't you ever heard that cracking your fingers widen them?"
Naruto slowly nodded his head. "And that concerns you because…?" Naruto asked slowly.
Something flashed across Sasuke's face but he only turned away and mumbled a soft 'nothing'.
The seconds, the minutes, the hours, the days, the years…
As they went by, nobody could miss the bond forming between the two boys. No one could deny the loving looks the two of them shot each other every time they thought no one was looking.
Then one faithful day, when they were done with their daily sparring, and were resting against the trees they claimed as their own, Sasuke held something in his right fist.
Naruto glanced curiously at it, trying not to make his looks obvious.
But Sasuke saw this and gulped. He furrowed his brow as if determined, then slowly stood up and walked over to his friend.
Naruto's blue orbs followed the raven-haired's every movement. His eyes came to a rest immediately in front of him.
"W-what?" Naruto stammered as he noticed the look Sasuke was giving him.
The blonde jumped slightly when Sasuke dropped to one knee.
"Naruto…"
"Eh?" Naruto's eyes widened as the onyx-eyed boy held up an open box, showing a plain wedding band.
"Sasuke…? What's this?" Naruto whispered.
The Uchiha took a deep breath before looking up and staring at Naruto straight in the eye.
"Naruto…"
A gulp.
Two.
"Will you marry me?"
After that, days were filled with frantic preparation of the day where the two lovebirds would finally vow to love each other eternally.
The big day came.
Sasuke couldn't help but fidget and feel nervous at the front of the aisle. He looked over to Kakashi who gave him a reassuring smile.
Sasuke returned his smile with a slight nod and turned back to look at the heavy oak double-door.
As the doors started to slowly creak open, Sasuke took in a deep breath.
And he couldn't let it out.
The sight that greeted at the end of the red carpet was far beyond what he expected. A glow seemed to radiate from the very core of the blonde's being.
A small smile was playing across the blue-eyed ninja's lips and Sasuke couldn't help but smile back.
Then Naruto started walking down the aisle.
Sasuke watched the shinobi's every move, ignoring all those who stood up around. Sasuke finally let out the breath he had been holding as his love reached his side.
They stood side-by-side, but Sasuke still couldn't take his eyes of his groom-to-be.
Only when the priest say his name did he look up with hazy eyes.
"I do."
He looked back to Naruto as the other stared lovingly straight back at him.
"I do."
Naruto put on Sasuke's ring on said ninja's shaky left fourth finger.
The Uchiha picked up the other ring and as he slid it onto the same finger as Naruto did, he looked into depths of blue and said, "Remember I told you not to crack your fingers but didn't tell you why?"
Naruto nodded as he smiled happily at his rival.
"It's for this."
And he sealed that with a kiss.
