A/N: So yes, this is my first attempt at a poem. I usually don't write poetry because I get flustered and can't express my thoughts correctly, but I was feeling inspired so I decided to take a crack at it. I also usually would never write Jack/Elizabeth romance, but it was the only way to make this idea work, so I had to just go with it. It actually wasn't so bad once I started writing.

So anyways, sorry if it sucks, and I hope you enjoy...

You are my light, dearest
My savior
My life and my hope
My love

Mine, dearest
And I am forever yours

Time wasted was time away from you
Away from your smile, your voice
For the truth is, dearest
It does work between us

And it forever will

Time wasted was time when I could not see
I was blinded by his face, his hands
His soft lips as he kissed away my troubles
His warm arms

But yours are warmer

Time wasted even after he was gone
My cold and empty heart
Shattered like glass in my fragile hands
And the gentle kiss of rain upon my cheek

You were always there, somehow

Time wasted until I could finally see
In fear, it was you I reached for
In joy, it was you I smiled for
In solitude, it was you I longed for

In peace and in war
And all seasons of the year
It was always you I loved

So come down from your perch now, dearest
Teach me to fly with you
And remember that I love you, dearest
And my time is wasted no more

A/N: As always, reviews are treasured. Please be gentle, but constructive criticism is welcome as I would love to improve my poetry-writing skills. Thanks!
