Ultimate Experience
Disclaimer: don't own, don't sue.
It stood out in the drizzly rain, the neon blue type flaring into the gray street. Still there stood a long crowd, all spandex and Lycra, it looked vaguely like a Heero Yuy convention.
This was the entrance to Club Dodge.
It was said to be the greatest there ever could, it was reckoned that you changed after one night there.
To Wufei it was total load of bullshit.
The owner of this fine establishment was what created this alluring vision of… well, no one actually knew. Or if they did they were being quiet.
It was an experience they said.
And now he was under orders to find out 'why'. It was ridiculous. It wasn't drugs, no they had sweeped this place more than once and had found nothing. There were no deaths or sudden illnesses, no heart attacks or man eating kittens (Wufei had checked this time).
It was like it was safer here than at other less safely run clubs.
Orders, however were orders as much as he disliked them.
Marching stiffly up to the two suited bouncers who guarded the door, he flashed his badge and walked ahead… And right into a steel arm.
"Let me pass," he said, staring in the black sun glasses that they wore. "I'm a Preventer."
"As if we would dare stop a law enforcer, but I must insist I see that badge again, sir." Calm and in control, well it looks like he had some guts.
Slowly he showed in to them. Soon they were nodding, opening the door for the agent.
Then there was a deep darkness.
Sparkling white teeth appeared, grinning a manic smile. "Welcome Wufei."
I question that surely it can not be…? "Duo?"
"That's me!"
"I thought you were dead!"
"I was… In a way. But now, Duo Maxwell is alive and living!"
It was at this moment the lights go on and I'm bombarded with light, colours and the smell of sweat.
"Dodgeball!"
Duo shot his an odd look, "Of course! This is a gym after all."
Well, he would check that out next time.
"Fore!"
A red ball slammed into his cheek.
"That's golf moron!"
It was a learning experience being a Preventer, if nothing else; he had learnt not to go on murdering sprees…
Picking up the ball he smirked. "I want to play."
