It was, apart from a few very key factors, a fairly normal day for Reno; he was here in Gongaga, on a mission of general violence. He was a Turk, after all, and so this kind of thing was expected of him. This particular encounter, though, he was looking forward to; his mission was to annihilate Avalanche, should they choose to turn up. That was something he didn't doubt in the least.

His mind, however, was not on the mission, or even on his companions. Because this little village, situated in the middle of what could loosely be described as a dense tropical forest, was Reno's version of a holy place. There were butterflies here, and he was getting in as much silent worship of the fluttery little insects as he could, apparently oblivious to the stares he was receiving from his colleagues. But then, crouching next to a bush and trying to encourage a huge butterfly to land on his hand was probably not the thing the others expected to see a man like Reno doing.

"Come here. Come on. I want to talk to you," he murmured softly, before smiling as the butterfly fluttered from the flower it had been sitting on, landing neatly in the palm of his hand and fanning its wings in a slow, calm manner, almost as if it were aware of Reno's worship. But then, in the young red-head's mind, it was.

"Reno, what are you doing?" The voice of Elena cut into his thoughts, and so he shifted his gaze to her. Wasn't she supposed to be off worshiping Tseng or something?

"What do you think I'm doing? I'm honouring the butterflies," he responded, sounding for all the world as if this were completely logical and sensible, and not caring if she thought him to be insane. But he knew he wasn't; let others have their fictional gods and scientific theories. Reno knew the truth, and that was that the butterflies had created the world, and merely allowed humans to live on it for a while. Those who gave the butterflies the respect they deserved would be reincarnated as part of the butterfly army, and help them overthrow the humans and take their rightful place as rulers of the planet. It all made perfect sense to his mind.

"Okay, Reno. Maybe you should go see a doctor when we get back," Elena suggested, her tone suggesting that she did indeed believe him to have gone insane, or possibly merely suffered a few too many blows to the head.
