Disclaimer: *Sigh* I don't own any of the Harry Potter Characters (J.K Rowling wouldn't give them to me - she said I didn't deserve them)… Not even Malfoy. Yes, I know, it's sad isn't it? Malfoy not mine - it's just unthinkable! *Sob* Why isn't he mine? I deserve him! Oh, pleeease J.K Rowling… Don't kill Malfoy off in the 7th book!
The characters you do not recognize are mine. All mine… my preciousssss…
A/N: This story is based on real characters, and so this is not like a Mary Sue. I will try my best to capture their true like qualities - even the bad ones. *Grins* Oh well.
Anyhow, I better get on with it - enjoy!

We Are Here For A Reason
CHAPTER TWO: Where the hell are we?
KYE'S POV:
A short skinny girl with brown hair, brown eyes and fair skin could be seen running through a packed mall, full of busy shoppers. Not a rare sight to see the girl running and out of breath; Kye was very well known for being late.
A girl who was absent-minded and sometimes forgetful with things to do, always prided the way she way was. She loved the fact that she could daydream anywhere, anytime, and about anything. Anyone who knew Kye would know that she loved fantasy and science fiction. Or, as she often thought to herself, 'anything out of the ordinary' – a line she picked up from her favourite book, obsession and something she often dreamed about; Harry Potter.
Kye came to a halt outside a five-story building, which bore the name 'Westfield Shopping Centre'.
"Kye!" A girl's voice called. Kye turned and saw her friend Nome hurrying over to give her a hug. She had short straight brown hair and brown eyes.
"Hey," Kye managed, before she was pulled away and smothered by Nindi. She was, compared to Kye, a fairly tall girl, and had blue eyes, and died-red hair that reached just past her ears.
"About bloody time," A girl with a nose ring, long brown hair and eyes muttered.
"Sorry guys, kinda got up late," Kye apologised.
Robbo, the girl with the nose ring, turned to a girl beside her and gave her a look that said 'typical'.
The girl beside her, called Kat, laughed and said, "Well of course she's late. She always is." Kat was the tallest girl there, though only a tiny bit taller than Nindi, and had brown eyes and pale skin, which matched her long blonde hair.
Kye frowned, which slowly turned into a guilty smile.
"I don't know how you can be late," Robbo said, exasperated. "You live fifteen minutes away!"
"So you keep reminding me," Kye muttered as the girls headed into the shopping centre.
"I wouldn't have to if you weren't so slow!" Robbo cried frustrated.
The others sighed; it wasn't the first time Robbo and Kye had argued about this.
"I am not slow!"
The other three snorted, and Robbo said, "Yeah, right."
Kye laughed, "Okay, okay, so I am slow. But," Kye grinned, "I gotta look good don't I?"
"Pffft! Your not slow coz of that!" Nindi interrupted. "You day-dream and sing in the shower," She said knowingly.
"Shut up!" Kye said angrily, shoving Nindi aside and running up the escalator laughing, with Nindi hot on her heels.
"Hey guys," Kat interrupted. "Pirates of the Carribean starts soon, so," Kat raised her eyebrows, "I think we should hurry along."
And with a meaningful look at one another, the five girls soberly headed towards the cinemas.
*****
"Now was that movie good, or was that movie good?" Nome said, grinning as they walked down he escalator.
"Yeah that guy was so hot!" Kye said, for what had to be the tenth time.
Robbo made a drooling face, "Orlando Bloom!" She cried.
"Kye laughed; she loved when Robbo pretended to drool, a lot like Homer Simpson.
Just then, Kye shuddered as she felt a shiver go down her spine. Kye shook herself, which made the weird feeling go away, and continued listening to her friends.
"Hey, back off! That guy's mine," Nindi protested, staring at Robbo angrily.
"Get lost Nindi," Nome shrugged her
off with a wave of her hand.
"Nindi, how many times do we have to tell you? Quit claiming guys!" Kat scolded
playfully.
Kye rolled her eyes, and ignored them, deciding to look ahead – and started. For a second, Kye thought she was imagining things.
"Whoa!" Kye said. She was imagining things!
"What?" Nindi asked absentmindedly, and then noticing where she was – yelped.
Kye looked around. She was in a dark room full of students sitting at desks. Something didn't feel right, and she was sure she wasn't dreaming – it looked and felt too real.
She noticed the desks had small round containers on them. 'Strange,' Kye thought, 'they look just like those cauldrons in Harry –"
"Ahem." A cough interrupted her thoughts. Distracted, Kye turned around and felt her heart leap to her throat.
Since Kye was frozen to the spot, she did the only thing she could manage, which was repeatedly tug hard on Nindi's shirt, who was closest to her.
Nindi was staring opened mouth at the class, until Kye pulled hard in her fifth try.
"What Kye?" She snapped and seeing Kye's white face, she looked over at what she was staring at, and a painful ear-splitting scream escaped, which caused Nome, Kat and Robbo to scream in turn.
"Whe – Where are we?" Naomi stuttered.
"It's obvious isn't it?" Robbo answered, nervously twisting her nose ring around.
"But we can't be here… can we?" Kat said.
Kye began to reply "Of course not", when a thought dawned on her, as she turned around, looking at the room then at the students. A smile slowly appeared, as she spotted a boy with glasses and black hair sitting in between a bushy brown haired girl and a red haired boy, at the back of the class.
She had a half mind to start jumping around the classroom, yelling "Harry Potter! Harry Potter! OH MY GOD, HARRY POTTER!" when, the door to the left suddenly opened.
In the doorway was a tall old man with a white beard and white long hair. It was none other than Albus Dumbledore, and Kye gave a silent inward squeak.
"Ah, I was waiting for you young ladies to arrive." He told them pleasantly walking into the room.
"Um, huh?" Naomi said shocked.
"You are the girls from Australia, are you not? He asked them, his blue eyes twinkling.
"Um, yeah, I guess" Robbo mumbled.
"Well! It is good to finally meet you at last." He spread his hands apart cheerfully and said, "Welcome to Hogwarts." Professor Dumbledore turned towards the door, and then added, "Come, follow me; I will explain everything in my office." And he walked out the door.
Kye instantly started to follow, but halfway to the door, she realised her friends still hadn't moved.
"Well, come on then!" She said and disappeared out the door.

NINDI'S POV:
Nindi looked at Robbo, she was fiddling with her nose ring again, which she assumed was because she was nervous. Personally, Nindi couldn't blame her; they were in a story for god's sake!
She heard someone whispering, and she saw a lady in a portrait talking to her friend, looking curiously at the newcomers. Nindi ignored them and focused her attention on the ancient wizard ahead of her; Albus Dumbledore, everything she had imagined, and yet so much more.
They reached the stone gargoyle and Professor Dumbledore said to it, "Fizzing whizbees."
The five girls watched in amazement as the gargoyle moved to the left, and the famous spiralling staircase came into view. They followed the Professor up the stairs and walked into his round office.
Nindi's eyes widened, as she looked around at all the pictures of the headmasters on the walls, who were talking rapidly among themselves. They stopped at once, seeing the girls, and a hushed silence fell upon the room.
The headmaster conjured up three extra chairs, motioned to them to sit down, and walked around to take his seat.
"Well, I am sure you are all wondering why you are here." He spoke, resting his hands together on the desk.
"Yeah, you could say that." Robbo muttered.
"And where exactly here is," Nindi added, and he looked at her, eyes sparkling.
"Yes, that too."
He looked at the far wall, searching for the right words. "Where to begin?" He said.
"Well, it's obvious. At the start!" Kye said suddenly, and the old man looked at her in amusement.
"Yes, that does make sense, doesn't it?"
Kye continued to look at him with interest, and Nindi smiled to herself.
"Well, not too long ago, a prediction was made forewarning that five girls would arrive, from another world – another… reality, if you will – where magic does not exist. Mostly it foretold that the five girls would attend Hogwarts and be in the same year as The Boy Who Lived." He informed them, looking at each girl in turn.
Kye broke out unexpectedly, "I knew it! We went through some type of portal – or whatever they're called. And… We're in Harry Potter's world!" Kye squealed.
"Yes, I expect it would be rather exciting, wouldn't it." The Headmaster replied conversationally.
"So, we are to attend… what year is Harry in?" Nindi asked, hardly believing what she was hearing.
"The sixth year," He told her. "But I must insist on a few things." He added, becoming much more serious.
"Yes?" Kat asked, becoming with rapt attention.
"Not to tell anyone where you are from," He continued. "From now on you girls are from the Australian school of magic, Oscean." He told them firmly. (A/N: Pronounced Oc-ee-an)
"Oscean? What a weird name." Robbo said.
"Yes, yes," He said dismissively, "I'm sure you at least know a bit of information to pull off being witches, do you not?"
"Of course we do! We all read the books." Kye said, and Nindi looked at her sharply.
"Um, er, um…" Kye continued feebly.
Professor Dumbledore chuckled, "It's alright. I already knew that you girls were familiar with Harry's adventures in your world."
Nindi heard Kye breath a sigh of relief.
"Read the books!" Nome suddenly cried, shocked.
Nindi looked at Nome confused, and then realised, "You've never read them!" She said.
"The movies, though – I watch them," She said, trying to calm down.
"And we can just correct you if you say anything wrong," Kat told her.
"Well, is it settled then?" The Professor asked.
"What? Oh – yeah, of course we'll go to this school." Kat said.
"Right, well I shall inform Professor McGonagall about you, and set the Sorting Hat up for tonight. Oh yes, and I will need to inform the students to all attend the Sorting tonight, which will be just before dinner." Professor Dumbledore went on, deep in thought.
"Um, sir?" Kye said, and he turned to her with a warm smile. "What about our school things? How will we be able to afford them – we don't have any money."
The headmaster's eyes grew wide.
"Ah, yes, your school equipment. Dear me, how could I have forgotten?" He paused, stroking his beard.
"I will have Professor McGonagall take you to Diagon Alley after Lunch... I suppose we will just have to make some arrangements. I'm sure Professor McGonagall will be able to have the school items reduced, and, if not, you will just have to work for paying it off." He finished.
Nindi could tell Kye immediately regretted asking him.
"Work!!" She exclaimed, looking as though she was being told to jump off a plane with a parachute.
He chuckled again, his eyes alive, and peered down his glasses at her. "Why, yes Miss Kamprad, work."
"But… but," She trailed off, looking at him desperately.
"I'm sure helping Hagrid look after the creatures for a while shouldn't be too hard."
Kye looked up at him. "Oh." She said, calming down instantly, and beamed, "Wow, extra Care for Magical Creatures classes!"
*****
Nindi followed her friends down the staircase and out the office. The Gargoyle had just gone back into place when they realised they had no clue where they were.
"Didn't bother giving us a map, did he?" Nome grumbled.
"Or directions," Robbo agreed.
"Well, we know it's downstairs, so… find the stairs and go down." Kat said, as though it was obvious.
Nome snorted, "Yeah, and which way is that?"
"Both ends of the corridors would have stairs, wouldn't they?" She reasoned, and started to walk along the corridor.
"Except for the fact this isn't a normal hallway, and not a normal school." Robbo said angrily, following. "We are in a castle, remember?" They reached the end of the corridor to find no stairs, but instead found themselves veering off into two different directions.
"And I think I remember reading that Hogwarts has around a hundred and forty stairways." Robbo added, turning to the right.
"Don't forget the hidden staircases." Nindi reminded them, who all this time had been walking behind the three squabbling girls, with Kye silently dragging along next to her.
The girls finally reached the end of the hallway to find a flight of stairs leading both up and down.
" Hopefully finding the Entrance Hall isn't as hard." Nindi muttered to Kye. When Kye didn't answer, she turned to her and asked, "What's up?"
Kye looked over at her, "How did Dumbledore know my last name?"

Kylez: Oh, yes, and another thing. I would just like to tell all you lovely fanfic fans that if you read this while your at school, please remember to delete the History Folder every time you go onto this site. The reason being that last year I was repeatedly going on fanfiction.net to look at the stories during my free periods. And what should happen when I go back to school this year? They restricted the site! Restricted it! I mean, come on, it's not offensive or anything, and you would think that the whole creative writing part was educational material - but apparently not. And you know what's really sad? They haven't restricted Adultfanfiction.net - and that's more explicit than this site. People these days, honestly! So, remember peoples - clear your history folder!
Oh and people, the button is there! Review!
