Author Notes: To be honest, I was going to leave the story and chapter one, but I had so many great reviews telling me to carry on. I also had a review that realy stuck out; saying that the story was good, yet "picture perfect" and then I realized they were right. So in the upcoming chapters please note that alot of rocky times will be coming up and some wont always be so perfectly settled.

Sweet Uncertainty; Chapter Two
----
The next few weeks following the anouncement hadn't been easy. Joans father had barely spoken to her and her mother was a constant pool of tears. Although Joan knew they loved her, she couldn't help but to think she had let the family down. 'What was I suposed to do?" she asked herself "deny my love for Adam at that moment?" The more she thought the harder she cried. Although she would not take back that night at Adams, she wished they would have been prepared. And for thinking these thoughts Joan instantly felt terrible. If she wanted to change the past did that mean she did not want her baby? Was she already becoming a bad mother to her unborn child?
Joan collected her thoughts and brushed away her tears. It was time for another dreaded day at Arcadia High. She didn't mind school as much as Adam. Joan found the rumors funny to an extent. Her personal favorite was that her and Adam were secretly married. She even had to give credit to Grace for coming up with the whole "chemistry expirament gone wrong" rumor.
"Joan" a voice called to her
As she turned around, Joan noticed CuteBoy!God running to catch up with her.
"I realy have to get to school..."
"Stop worrying so much Joan, it will all work out"
"Why would you do this to me?" she screamed, her emotions begining to flow free as they had that morning in her room.
CuteBoy!God let out a chuckle. "The decisions we make, in turn make us, Joan"
"Can always count on you to clarify things, huh?"
"everything happens for a reas..."
"Cut to the chase, I'm late, what do you want?" Joan but in.
"I want you to sign up for night school, Joan"
"Go to school day and night? are you insane?"
"Trust me Joan" CuteBoy!God smiled
How could she resist that smile?
"Alright, fine, I'll give up my life early" she agreed, walking off and to the school.

Adam could tell something was truely bothering Joan. And for some reason, he felt it was a deeper reason than the obvious. Adam and Joan had always had a connection, they could tell when the other was hurt or in need, when they were happy or simply putting up a front. The only time the two had ever been blinded by eachothers feelings was through their mutual love that neither knew about.
"Jane, whats wrong?" he asked during AP chem
"I have to take night school"
"What?"
"I don't know why so don't ask, but I have to do it"
"Another secret?"
"Yeah, Adam, I told you someday I'll explain" Joan was not in the mood to be having this conversation.
"When, Jane? We're having a baby... don't you think you've waited long enough keeping any secrets from me?"
"Adam, trust me on this"
"I always trust you Jane, but I dont think its safe you doing these out of nowhere things while your pregnant" he kept his voice low.
"It'll be fine" she ended the conversation by seemingly drawing her attention back to her notes. Even though AP chem was the furthest thing from her mind.
Adam was hurt. Something told him her secret had to do with the guy he had once saw Joan with. The guy from the dance. He had appeared to be their age, was this why she was going to night school? He had never seen this mysterious figure at school before, wich to him, now made perfect sence. He began to doodle contemplating all the reasons Joan would still be infatuated with another man even after their night of love making.
----
"So I heard you say something about night school?" Grace aproached Joan at the lockers.
"Yeah, I'm signing up for it"
"Are you trying to make things harder on yourself?"
"It's something I have to do Grace"
"Alls I'm saying is you have 8 months to live while you can"
"LOOK, YOU THINK I HAVEN'T THOUGHT ABOUT THAT?!" Joan snapped as Grace took a few steps back.
"Calm down, Girardi, God" she walked away.
'Yeah' Joan thought, 'God has everything to do with this mess'. She was upset with herself for snapping at her friend, it was not in her nature to do such a thing. It wasn't until later, when she was talking with her mom in the art room, that she found out mood swings were a part of pregnancy. Joan didn't want to lose her friends because of something she couldn't control, she knew she had to do something.
----
Now waiting in the office Joan began to tap her foot in nervousness. What would she tell Mr.Price? She was certain he knew of her situation, who didn't? But would he let her join the night school classes? 'Sure', she thought, he has no reason not to. She hated talking with Price, the man always had a way to belittle her.
"Ah, Miss Girardi" he walked out of his office
"I'd like to sign up for night school" she blurted out, avoiding all the plans and speachess she had come up with before hand.
"Thats very ambitious of you, but unfortuneatly all of our classes are full"
"No, Mr.Price, you don't understand, I need this"
"I'll tell you what, Joan, you simply sign your name here on this waiting list, and I will let you know of the first opening we have." he was obviously trying to get this meeting done and over with.
Joan signed her name on the sheet of paper. 'There' she thought, 'I did my best'. She was relieved in a way that her classes would not be starting until the unmarked future.
