Yoshi walked into his bedroom. He wanted to sleep early because Mario had said that Santa Claus brings presents to good children who are asleep on his arrival. He had just nodded off when a person climbed in through his window.
This person shook Yoshi awake.
Yoshi: Who are you?
Person: Well, I am Santa Claus.
Yoshi: Really? I thought Mario said Santa comes to kids like me when I am asleep.
Santa: Well, Santa has two little problems.
Yoshi: What problems?
Santa: Well, you know Santa gives toys to all the good little boys & girls, right?
Yoshi: Right. How do you give it to them?
Santa: Well, you see, I gather the toys in a big bag, & fly throughout the areas of where the kids are. I then drop down to each home…I mean dome & give them their present. Usually, I do it with reindeer flying my sleigh.
Yoshi: But where's your reindeer?
Santa: Unfortunately, I don't know, & I need to deliver the presents tonight. How would you like to see firsthand how I deliver the presents?
Yoshi: Oocha gamba, Yoshi would like that! What do I have to do?
Santa: Well, I attach this rope here so that when you fly, you carry the sleigh, the toys, & me.
Yoshi: Good idea…but how will I fly?
Santa: Right. You need wings. There is a pair outside in the floating block there.
Yoshi walks over to the floating block outside & jumps to hit it with his head. The wings pop out & attach right to his left & right side. He goes over to the big gray box by the door & Santa walks up to him.
Yoshi: Uh, Santa? Where are the toys?
Santa: That's the other problem. King Koopa stole the toys away earlier. We have to go to Neon Castle to get them back.
Yoshi: I know how to get there! But wait, where is Mario?
Santa: (Laughs quietly to himself) Mario is kinda overworked. Besides, I think I know a thing or two about the castle, because I've been there before. We gotta get going, or you & the other cave kids won't get your presents for cave Christmas.
Yoshi: Okay. My wings are flying & we're in the air. Boy, this is fun! One thing – You look & sound a lot like Mario. Are you related to him?
Santa: Trust me, Yoshi, I am not related to Mario. Besides, Mario doesn't have a white beard. (I'm glad I don't have to lie there. Santa isn't related to me, & this white beard is actually from The Princess!)
Yoshi: Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Last thing, how do you know my name & my power of flying?
Santa: Santa knows many things, Yoshi. I keep an eye on all the kids in the world. Oh, there's the Neon Castle now! Touch down, Yoshi!
And they arrive at Neon Castle…
