I was a normal ten-year old girl with dark brown hair and green eyes. That night it happened. I was walking home from the park with my friend Alexandra. I saw it first. I screamed and ran into a crevice in a rock. Alexandra followed, but she wasn't quick enough. The vampire flew over her back and head slashing her shoulders with its knife sharp claws. She fell down yelling in pain. I darted out and grabbed her hands dragging her towards the safety of the crevice. Yet again are efforts weren't good enough. The vampire picked Alexandra up and flew high. It then stabbed its sharp fingers into her back. It dropped the corpse and flew away.

I told my mom what happened. She got mad at me for lying after informing the cops of Alexandra's death. My mom thought I killed Alexandra. They knew the truth soon enough however. The next to die was my brother. He was shopping at the mall when the vampire attacked. All that they could gather up of him was cremated. A little boy named Josh was next. They found the top-left part of his body. They could only identify him by his birthmark. Soon one person died a day. This went on for about four months.

Then the message came. I was to be offered to the vampire so the killings would stop. They were going to tie me to a pole and watch me die.

"No! Leave me be!" I screamed. I struggled as the villagers dragged me towards the pole. I heard shouts like

"Feed her to beast!"

"Kill her!" and the worst sound of all was the sound of kids accusing me for the murders of their beloved fathers and mothers.

"Help!" I shouted as my mom past me. She just grabbed hold and started pulling me towards the pole. I saw the glee and anguish and the faces I past. Partly from the fact the killings would soon be over and partly from the losses of loved ones.

They tied me to the top of the pole and shouted with glee as the vampire dived out of the night sky. I was going to die the fact was drifting in farther from thought and closer to reality when I heard the scream. It screamed like a banshee. It screamed of a victory. It didn't kill me. The vampire grabbed the post. I knew then what was to happen to me was far worse then death. The last thoughts in my mortal body were that the only person who ever cared what happened to me was gone. Alexandra was dead. Then I accepted fate as the fangs seeped into my neck.
