Buffy had heard that Angel had once again turned into Angelus. She arrived at the hotel in LA, where she found Angelus locked up inside a cage, with Faith guarding it.
"So, I'm guessing you want to know what made him evil this time huh?" Faith asked Buffy.
"Yeah, I must admit, I'm kinda interested in knowing how he turned into Angelus again.." Buffy secretly panicked, and thought perhaps Angel and Faith had…
"Well, I'm not sure, he wasn't exactly acting 5 by 5, you know, just the usual. Him walking around, that whole broody thing was happening, he was drinking some pig's blood….. I figured that's his norm, next thing I know, he jumped me, and was tryin to bite me. Beats me what pulled his trigger."
Buffy looked concerned,
"Well, she began, it must have been something, either someone's cast a spell on him to make him think he's Angelus, when he really isn't, or he's been getting happier than usual, with someone that we don't know."
This was a dilemma. Angel was now Angelus, and Buffy and Faith didn't know why he'd turned back to his former evil self. Buffy still had her suspicions involving Angel and Faith, Buffy knew what Faith could be like, she could be forceful and persuasive…all part of her character…….
"Hey girls, and……. Buffy, what are you doing here?" Angelus mumbled from behind the cage bars.
"I'm here to find out how you turned into Angelus, or I guess I could just kick your ass." Buffy replied smartly.
Angelus just smiled
"Buffy, Buffy, Buffy, you'll never learn will you? (At this point Angelus sounded patronizing) how do you think I turned evil again? What? You think this is some kind of a spell? No. It was much more than that….." Angelus then smiled again.
"What do you mean? Was much more than that?" Buffy asked.
"Well, that's for me to know, and perhaps for you girls to find out." Angelus then jumped against the front of the cage and bared his fangs. He then smelt the air.
"I'm smelling some fear…..or maybe that's just the negative energy in the room.." He then laughed mockingly, knowing that he was at an advantage. Angelus may be the one locked up, but he had the power of manipulating Buffys thoughts as to how he turned into Angelus again.
Buffy looked at him. Faith then said
"No, the negative energy is us wanting to kick your immortal ass!"
"Faith calm down, Buffy said, he wants you to get annoyed, it's just a game to him, he doesn't know what he's saying."
The basement was filled with an echoing laugh.
"Buffy, I know what I'm saying, and I know what I'll do, once I get out of this cage." Angel had a serious look upon his face. Then Buffy and Faith looked into his eyes, waiting for his reply.
"I'll kill you slowly, obviously I'll leave you till last." Angel smiled at Buffy in an evil sadistic manner.
"Come on then, tough guy! You want a piece of us! You think you can take us? We'll kick your ass and we'll drive this stake through your heart, and then the scenario is so long evil Angelus. How do you like the sound of that?" Faith smiled evilly at Angelus.
"I'm thinkin 5 by 5." Angelus then smiled at Faith, and Buffy just looked at Angelus not believing that he was evil again. What had happened to Angel? And how had he turned into Angelus again?
