"Drabble: When All of This is Over"

Small note: I seem to be on a posting kick. This is unbeta'd, as I seem to exist in a pertual state of beta-less-ness. It is proofed the the extent that I like it. Any grammatical errors, let's call them artistic license. Inspired by a piece of artwork at Harry Potter and the Planetarium, located at http: (slash slash) lillithium (dot) azile (dot) net (slash) images (slash) top41 (dot) jpg. No offense is meant.

When all of this is over, he used to say to you, lets run away. Lets go to the ocean, to the sea. We'll take long strolls at dawn, with only our whispers and the sounds of waves crashing to disturb us. We'll drink tea by a worn fire at night and tell ghost stories to each other, like we used to do. Everyday for lunch I'll pack us a picnic that we can eat in the field just passed the house. When all of this is over.

It won't rain he promised when he saw that look it your eyes, but you shushed him with a finger to his lips and told him you like the rain. He declares with a smile that there will be thunderstorms that you can spend the entire night watching.

Then you sat up and looked at him and asked, when all of this is over, if you can run away. You want to take long walks in the moonlight, feels its soft radiance on your face for the first time in an eternity. When all of this is over, he swore. He'll take you in the moonlight and show you its beauty.

He runs first, behind a veil of body and mind and fabric. When you close your eyes and sleeps descends you can see him standing on a beach, the moon shining brightly, his arms outstretched, waiting for you.

Waiting for when all of this is over.
