Spike sat in his darkened crypt in his comfy chair, he smoked a cigarette and watched the telly. He was bored out of his mind, he didn't know what to do. He was slightly depressed, he couldn't be evil anymore, everything he was was taken away in an instant. All because he gloated over the slayer for to long, and now he was her glorified whipping boy. He let out a long sigh the smoke trailed from his mouth to the ceiling.
Suddenly an evil look grazed his features. He quickly stood up and threw on his black leather trench coat. He bounded out the door, out of the cemetery and down to the pet shop. He walked in and was promptly greeted by the sales person.
"Got any rabbits?" He asked the young brunette woman. She smiled and took him to where the rabbits were. They carried on a bit of a conversation, he told her it was for a friend of his who was going through some rough times and so on. All of which were lies, but it was fun to make up stories occasionally.
Spike picked out a gray and white rabbit that any normal girl would think was just adorable. He paid for the rabbit and left the store. He had it in a small box under his arm. The evil grin swept across his chiseled features once again. Then he saw Willow walking up the side walk approaching him quickly. She smiled at him and stopped him.
"Hey spike." Spike lit up a cigarette and looked at her.
"Hey red." She smiled widely, she was being her normal giddy self. She continued to speak to him, not paying attention to the package under his arm.
"Anya's havin' a birthday party at Buffy's here in like an hour, she told me if I saw you, to invite you." Spike smirked.
"Yeah, right red. I don't think that's bloody likely." he took a long draw from his cigarette.
"Okay, okay, so she didn't invite you, but I'm inviting you. You don't have to bring anything just show up." Spike lowered his brow he couldn't understand why she kept trying to be nice to him when everyone else hated him.
"Alright red, I might be there.. no promises though. I don't really fancy being around the whole Captain America club. Specially the bitchiest slayer." Willow smiled and told him okay, she went on her way and Spike decided he had the perfect birthday present for Anya. He laughed quietly to himself and walked down the street humming.
He had the package wrapped in black tissue paper with a blood red bow and a tag attached that read. 'To: Anya, From: Spike. Open with care. This side up.' He had a smile on his face the whole way to the slayers house. When he got there he was greeted apprehensively by everyone but Willow.
When the time came to give her the gifts, Spike insisted that she save his for last. It was the biggest and the heaviest of all the gifts. She thanked everyone for their gifts then looked at Spike suspiciously, he was grinning ear to ear.
"Go ahead, open it. You'll love it." he smirked. "I put a lot of thought into it."
He was trying to hold back a chuckle. Anya started to tare away the paper slowly. Everyone was in suspense. As she opened the box she let out a high pitched scream and jumped into Xander's arms. Spike along with Willow, Buffy, Dawn, Oz, Angel, and Joyce burst into laughter. Spike was rolling on the ground holding his stomach. Angel leaned up against the door frame and howled in laughter. Buffy couldn't help herself, she leaned on Angel for support. The only one who didn't think it was funny was Anya. Even Xander found it slightly amusing.
"That isn't funny Spike. Get it away! Get it away! I don't want that thing around me with it's weird eyes, hoppy little legs, and," she shudders, "It's twitchy little nose. Get it away!" She was still wrapped around Xander who chuckled slightly she hit his chest and he laughed harder. Spike was barely able to reply through his laughs.
"Oh, yes it was. That was a bloody laugh riot. Bloody priceless."
