A poem from Zelos' POV. Musings on his title as a chosen, and actions he has taken.

True Meaning

What is the true meaning of the title 'Chosen'?
Is it the name of one that sacrifices for the good of many?
Or is it merely a meaningless thing, given only for show?

I never wanted this title
Never have, never will
I just want to live life my own way
By my own rules

Yet this cruel fate was thrust upon me
And there was nothing I could do to stop it
So I live life according to their rules
I live life behind a mask

I am used by the pope and the king
Like a puppet on strings
To bend to their will,
To use my title for their purposes

All who look upon me
Never see past my title
They see only the 'chosen'
Never the man inside

So I live by their standards
Flaunting my grace and beauty
Yet it is never the real me
It is merely a charade

I want to break free of this imprisoned life
Yet in doing so I may betray the trust
And sacrifice the lives
Of all of those whom I have come to love

To be free for once
To cut these ropes that bind me
Would it truly be worth it
If I must forfeit everything in order to gain it?

And yet I wonder:
Are these actions the actions of the true Zelos Wilder
Or are they simply the actions
Of a desperate man searching vainly for a reprieve

Well? how was it? after i wrote my Sheena poem, i felt i just had to write a Zelos one to accompany it. Review! tell me if you likez or hatez!
