"His touch on my skin is like heaven's wings sprouting from my back. As his cold body presses against mine, I cannot control myself. I cannot hold myself back. My fingers slowly comb through his black silky hair. His eyes, Oh God, his eyes. They are like glistening diamonds in the dim shadow of moonlight. His breath tickles my neck, making me clench the loose sheets beside me. Pleasure is flowing through my veins. Will this last forever? Will he stay? It doesn't matter in those seconds; all that matters is here, now. I close my eyes and imagine what our life would be like, together or separated forever. The deep emotions swim in my heart. Together, love is racing through me, rushing to my brain. Separated forever? Tears stream down my cheek, piercing my porcelain-like skin. I open my pearled eyes, wanting to hold him, to embrace him and never let go. Never." Cordelia wrote in her journal. "I wish I could stay like this forever, be with him. Be like him. So we could live forever, together. Be his kind. Not in this pathetic body as human. It is so weak, so fragile, so breakable. I am not immortal. I am not a vampire. Although I wish he could change me, he would never. I know he loves me, but he loves me too much to damn me to a life of feeding and blood. He loves me too much to damn me to a life without seeing or feeling the warmth of the bright rays of the Sun. But how I wish to be with him, even if that means that I have to die. It is worth dying for him, dying for love, than waking up in his arms."
A knock came from behind the door. "Who is it?" Cordelia yelled, still writing.
"Angel." She smiled, placing the pen in the book, closing it, and putting it in her drawer.
"Come in." She said, sitting on her bed with a smile spread across her face.
Angel walked in, his face dark and saddened as always. That's what she had loved. "I need to talk to you…" He whispered, sitting on her bed. "I just wanted you to know, that I don't want you to be like me. I don't want you to have to go through the same thing I did. I never want anyone to go through that, especially you."
She grabbed his hand, and placed it on her heart. "Do you feel that? It beats for you. My blood pumps for you. You, Angel, are worth dying and coming back for. I will do anything for you, and I know that you would do the same. All I want is for us to be together always. I understand, that you do not want to, I know that now. I know that now, you'll love me more than anyone on this damned earth. I love you… No matter what species you are." They both laughed and embraced.
"Let's go downstairs, Fred and Gunn have to talk to us about something important." Angel explained, throwing out his hand and kneeling on one knee. "Come, My Lady."
