"Hey Ron, pass me a sugar quill would ya?" Harry asked.

"Sure, no problem. Excuse me Mione." Ron said as he reached over her body to the bag of food they had snitched from the kitchens.

The trio was currently stargazing, well, more like storm gazing… an activity that had started in that year. Lying in the great hall, after carefully and quietly levitating the tables to the side of the room. It was nearly midnight, but none cared, it was a good storm out tonight.

Harry was finally up to talking about Sirius for once. He had been so quiet and withdrawn all summer, Hermione was afraid that he was suicidal. It had been her crying that had finally got him to talk to her, and got him to realise that even with Sirius gone, he still had people who loved him.

"Sometimes, I just wonder, what if he decided not to cross over? To come back as a ghost. Nick said it was unlikely but not impossible!" Harry said wistfully.

"But still unlikely." said Ron, who was in the middle, between Harry and Hermione.

"Just think Harry, he spent the last 14 years of his life in hiding and in prison, but he can rest in peace knowing that you know the truth, and knowing that you loved him. He's in a better place now. They had broken him in azkaban Harry. You know that, maybe where he is now, he's whole again." Hermione suggested. And as much as it hurt to hear that he had suffered for so long, Harry knew that she was probably right. He had loved Sirius, he was the closest thing Harry had ever had to a father. (well, aside from the father that he could never remember.)

"I just hope that by the end of this, we all still have each other, and that we come out whole." Harry said, expressing the constant weight on all of their minds. would they ever lose each other? It was too terrible even to think. Ron took Hermione's hand in his, meaning it as a gesture of comfort, but sending electric shocks down their spines.

"At least we all have each other now, and have to do as much we can with the time given to us." Hermione said, her voice wavering slightly. Ron was holding her hand!!

They sat in silence for awhile, staring at the storm, thunderclaps sounding in the distance. Then Ron spoke up. "No matter what happens, we're best mates right?" this was followed by replies of "Yes, of course"

Hermione sat up and looked down at the two of them. "Ron, Harry, I love you guys." she said hugging them both in turn as they cheerfully returned the sentiment. Ron thinking "in more ways than one Mione."
