The truth hurts

"Maddie" Ally called up the stairs.

"What?" came a muffled reply.

Ally wasn't having this, she had moved from Boston to New York all for Maddie and the little brat couldn't even get out of bed for her first day back at her old school.

"If you're not down here in 5 seconds, your brand new pink jumper gets it" Ally threatened snatching up the pink pile and a pair of scissors.

Maddie heard the seriousness in her voice and dragged herself out of bed.

Meanwhile, downstairs Ally was on "3"…

Maddie raced down the stairs snatched her jumped from Ally and ran back up to her room. Half an hour later, Maddie returned back downstairs wearing jeans, her pink jumper and her pink trainers.

"Well, its about time Miss pink" Ally exclaimed looking at her watch before grabbing her car keys and a blueberry muffin.

"Beauty takes time" Maddie replied "You should know that"

"Yeah ok, Ill give you that" Ally answered with a smile as she climbed into the car. Putting the key in the ignition she paused and turned to Maddie "Did you have any breakfast?"

Maddie pulled a face "Oops I kind of forgot"

"Have this" Ally said as she handed over the muffin she had picked up seconds earlier.

"Ta" Maddie replied through a mouthful of muffin. Ten minutes later, Ally pulled up outside Maddies school.

"Bye then" Ally said to Maddies retreating back.

"Oh yeah, bye" she said turning back as if she had just remembered Ally was there. Ally sighed, drove home and picked up the phone. "Renee" Ally said "I need to talk to you"

Meanwhile, in Boston…

"Richard, there's someone to see you in your office" Elaine explained

"Ok, thanks" came Richards reply as he neared his door. As soon as he saw who it was, he felt anger rise up inside him.

"What are you doing here?" he spat out. The man in the corner squirmed uncomfortably, "Richard, I can explain…"

"Larry. She is not here. She left." Richard cut in impatiently.

"Yeah I know, Elaine told me all about it" Larry said "I'm here about a job"

"What? Yeah right" Richard scoffed

"Just let me explain why I left, then you may judge me, deal?" Larry pleaded.

"I'm listening" Richard said as he took a seat opposite Larry.
