Part Two: The Brawl
Throughout the castle all that day,
Up went defenses in full array.
Not a single corner did we neglect,
For any entrance was now suspect.
We all wrote to those loved the most,
Every owl away, delivering post.
You and I, we wandered the halls,
Aware of danger lurking outside these walls.
And who's face do we see,
Who ran infront of you and me?
But the boy we loathed, Draco Malfoy,
Grey eyes still cold, thin smile coy.
We wondered what sin he now had committed,
With his goonies beside him, big, dumb and half-witted.
"Why Potter," he said, eyes full of defiance,
"I warned you back then, of your misalliance!"
And before from your robes your wand you could pull,
I had hit him in the face, hard and full.
He looked up at me, with a face full of wonder,
While Crabbe and Goyle hit themselves in a blunder.
I heard you laugh, at how Malfoy now lay,
And I hope I still hear it, at the end of the da
Little more could we do, than wait for tonight,
Wait for the dreadful, inevitable fight.
I look at you and think, of parents unshed tears,
Of the Boy Who Lived, my friend for seven years.
Still I remember that day we first met,
I have since thought myself truly in your debt.
Because that day forth, we were together ev'ryday,
Through days of bright sun, and those of harsh grey.
I recall fondly those days of merriment and mirth,
And renew in my, my fight for this Earth.
Earth which to you your sorrows gave,
The Earth in which they'll place your grave.
And that is why I kneel and pray,
That you return at the end of the day.
For let it be known that all I will do,
Will all be for nothing, if I should lose you.
A/N: More to come...sorry about the slow uplaods. Hehe. R and R, please!
