Part Four: The Siege

Off in the distance, sparks flew in the night,

Wizards and Witches, fighting with magical might.

Fighting for hours, though by now I've lost count,

Beside me someone falls, the body count mounts.

I saw Professor Snape, charging into the fray,

Never again, will he see the light of day.

Dean Thomas was there, putting up a brave fight,

But then I saw him fall, in a flash of green light.

More Death Eaters fall, but for each that we kill,

Two more seem to come, to do their masters will.

I wander now in wrath, for Ginny was denied,

The safety of the castle: I watched my sister die.

Four dark ones had come up behind her, souls black as their dress,

I turned around in time to hear her cry of distress.

I couldn't believe it- I had to be dreaming,

But then she fell, and I ran to her screaming.

So angered I was, that hardly could I see,

Though I remember fighting terribly.

Each one of them I killed right where they stood,

All I wanted was to damage as much as I could.

Then I picked up my sister and held her to my chest,

And hugged her close, till her eyes closed in rest.

I laid her down gently on the Earth's grassy floor,

And said "good night," one last time more.

For a few moments I wandered in confusion,

Till I saw a great bird, that vanished as an illusion.

It had great black wings, three feet in span,

But why it was there, I didn't understand.

And with a cry it vanished, in a flash of red light,

Leaving behind, the cold empty night.

Then I heard a scream, high and terrified.

I looked around to see it was Mione who cried.

My dear Hermione, object of my desire,

Who was backing away from a hot wall of fire.

Standing right there, was the one to blame,

Malfoy, smiling, as though playing a game.

What happened next, I can't rightly say,

But there was blood on my feet, where Malfoy lay.

I stared for a moment at Draco laying dead,

Then I turned to Hermione, who spoke earnestly with dread.

For she had seen the great black bird too,

"It's a portent!" she said, "Harry's life depends on you!"

I didn't even say goodbye as I ran,

Had to get to Harry, as soon as I can.

I ran at great speed, I didn't look back,

I knew Hermione could defend against an attack.

She would be fine, no matter come what may,

I flew from my Love, and into the fray.

As I hit the air of the night,

I was almost burned by a dragon in flight.

Charlie ran past me and smiled with sorrow,

And I wondered if I'd see him in the 'morrow.

The dragon then flew towards the mire;

Twelve Death Eaters went down in burning red fire.

I took off again, till I was nearly out of breath,

Until I saw Him come, shrouded in shadow like Death.

As He approached, all movement ceased, not a thing stirred,

All became silent, not a sound, not a word.

Good and Evil stopped, waiting with baited breath,

For walking towards them, was tangible death.

He glided softly towards you, like a black bird of prey,

I remembered what you said, "Let come what may."

Then you began to fight, and the truth I do tell,

I watched as my world, dropped into Hell.

A/N: Yup...Part Four. There it is. Still two more chapters left. Luckily they're already written. I just go in and try to find whatever mistakes I may have made. Which I'm sure there are plenty that still got past me. Right now, I wish upon Scholastic, that I could figure out howto get a space (like a paragraph space,)...because what the tell me to do doesn't seem to be working, and the paragraphs and spacing I intended to have in this thing aren't appearing. Boo. Anyway, R/R always welcome and appreciated!
