Chapter 1
Ryan
"Worn me down"
It was first thing on a Monday morning and the sun was rising. Ryan had been woken at 6 by his alarm he then got up had a shower and got dressed. He was out of the house by 6:25 and in the office by 7. His lunch was between 1 and 2 and he then worked until 5. He would get home at 5:25, dinner would be ready at 6 and then work in his office until 10 he would have another shower and get ready for bed, and be in it by 10:30.
Ryan's life was planned like clock work and he hated it. Nothing interesting happened and nothing in his routine changed.
Vikki was tall and skinny. She had brown hair and blue eyes. She had sat next to Ryan during class and that is how he had met her. Like Ryan she was a lawyer and worked the same hours as him.
They had gotten stuck in this routine and if either were honest with each other they would realize that they hated it.
Ryan missed the Newport days while life was more complicated he also felt alive. Walking around the streets of Boston now he felt asleep like life was just passing him by. He was worn down by his work load. He had chosen to bury himself in work.
He rarely rung home and he didn't really know why, he had just stopped. Kirsten would ring him once a month to that he was alive and that he was alright but that was it. He had not spoken to Seth in 6 years and he would always ask Kirsten how he was. He liked to know how Seth was
