Dementors Laugh?
It was the middle of the summer. The sun was setting in the backround and the sky was lit with wonderfully bright purples, oranges, and pinks.
My friend, Sarah and I were walking back to my house from Sweet Jenny's, where we went for some ice cream.
We had just turned the corner onto Georgetown Blvd. when all the lights on the street went out and it became pitch black and extremely cold.
"Sarah, doesn't this seem awfully familiar? I mean, don't you feel like you've read about this somewhere or something like that?" I wrapped my arms around me, trying to become warmer.
"Yea, I know what you mean. Actually, I think I did read about this somewhere, but I can't remember where." Sarah replied, her voice trembled slightly.
I looked around, even though I couldn't see anything, even if it was two inched in front of me. I heard heavy breathing coming from the depths of the darkness and it sent a cold chill up my spine. Suddenly, I felt a lot colder as an icey cold wind struck the back of my neck and the breathing became much louder.
I spun around and was face-to-face with a dementor!
"Sarah ..." I whispered and I felt her turn around.
"Oh my god! Sam! It's a dementor! Oh my god! I gotta take a picture!"She rumaged through her purse and whipped out her camera. "Ok Mr. Dementor, smile!" Click! She took several more pictures and finally put her camera away.
"Sarah! You just took pictures of a dementor! You know they can kill us right!" I yelled at her, though I still stared at the creature.
"Yea, I know they can kill us." She giggled. "He's so cute!"
The dementor stood up and turned his bone-chilling face toward Sarah, who was laughing so hard she could barely catch her breath!
"Sarah, you're crazy!" I became angrier by the minute. Sarah just laughed some more in response.
Suddenly, it became even colder and my eyes had adjusted to the dark so I saw about 20 more dementors appear out of the woods, Sarah laughed even harder.
"OH MY GOD!" I screamed and ran down the street like a maniac, leaving Sarah with all the dementors.
I could still hear her laughing insanely, but she wasn't the only one. The dementors were laughing too.
