After 9 years on the island they are rescued but it isn't easy to go back when you've been gone that long. Mostly Claire/Charlie
Claire came downstairs. This house was huge. They had all gotten so much money and free houses. Their stories were all over the place. But it was strange not just being able to go and talk to Kate, or Shannon. At least Charlie and the kids were here. Just as she thought that they all came in.
"Don't get dirt on the carpet!" Claire exclaimed. She watched her husband; twin daughters Olivia and Iris come in followed by her son Andrew. Andrew was nearly 9 years old and Olivia and Iris were 6.
"Mommy there was dirt everywhere at home." Iris said.
"Can Walt come over?" Andrew asked "He is so much fun."
Charlie sighed. The kids were exactly getting this new set up. They didn't know this world. "Walt can't just come over any time now. We may not see the others for long periods of time." He said softly.
Olivia looked ready to cry "But what about Jenny?" She asked. "Auntie Shannon said that I could see her. And she's my best friend."
Claire went over to her. "Well Shannon lives the closest only about an hour away but now her, Jenny and Sayid have their own life like we do."
"I hate it here!" Olivia yelled. "I want to go back to the island. I wish those people had never come and taken us!" She ran outside crying.
Iris just looked at her. "What about Aunt Kate or Sun or Hurley?" She asked.
"Sweetie this isn't the island." Charlie said looking to Claire desperately.
"Yeah this is a horrible place, where people are mean and the air is dirty and it's loud. I hate it to. Come on Iris, Mommy and Daddy must hate us for making us live here." He took his sister's hand and went outside.
"Charlieā¦. they hate it." Claire said looking extremely sad. "And I don't like it either. I feel so alone, so separated." She sat down on the couch and Charlie came and put an arm around her.
"I know sweetie but it's better than being on the island. The kids can really live. They'll grow to like it." He said but he didn't sound very sure.
