Logan walked outside and took a deep breath of air, Max was still
alive? How was that possible? He thought he was insane all
of these months, just waiting for her to come back to him. Now
Lydecker was telling him that Manticore had been able to do what he had
thought was possible as she lay dead in his arms. Manticore had
given Max a new life.
He couldn't comprehend it. Part of him wanted to celebrate, but
the other part of him told him not to believe it. He'd just
learned to live without her and even then he was barely getting
by. If he lost her again….
