Silvery Frozen

The room was dimly lit. A small lamp on the bedside table was its only source of light. It was so dark that one could barely see anything. The room felt cold and lonely as the heavy atmosphere loomed around it with nerve breaking silent.

Everything felt frozen for the man slumped in the sofa at the far corner. He sighed, running his hand through his brown locks for the thousand times. The room felt different and foreign, despite the fact that he had lived in there since he first came to Traverse town 15 years ago. The quietness and lonesome feel in the room was torturing him. Was he weakening? He often found himself asking that same question. He used to be unaffected by silence and lonesome. No, he even welcomed that feeling once, after the downfall of Hollow Bastion into darkness, distancing himself from the others by building an ice wall around his heart and changing his name to Leon. Now, he despised the feeling with all his heart and all the regret he could muster.

What could possibly changed or weaken him? Why he felt tortured now? Why he loathed the cold and lonely atmosphere now? Even though he didn't want to admit, he knew the answers deep down inside...

Yes, he knew the answers perfectly well. Why the room felt alien, why he suffered such an emotional disturbance, why he changed...

All because of her. She was the reason behind everything...

She used to light the atmosphere around her with her cheerfulness and bouncy attitude. Even in their darkest moment, she was able to brighten up their spirits with her smile and optimism mind-set. Not that he would ever admit that aloud. She always tried her hardest to make him open up, intended warming his frozen heart with all she might, never stopping even when she was wounded deeply by him. She loved him unconditionally.

His desperate attempts to push her away with cold manners and harsh words became futile eventually. As time passed, without him realizing, she had become the main support in his heart, keeping him in the line. She was his light, constantly looking out for him, showing him that there were still hopes in his future, despite his failure in protecting Hollow Bastion so long ago. And so, he slowly opened up to her, breaking down his cold demeanor and gave his whole heart to her. He was happy and content with her at his side. He treasured their relationship and wanted nothing more. Some time later, he even began to plan his future silently. His future with her. Their future together. He often imagined how happy their life together would be. They would have a nice and cozy home. He was sure that she would be the greatest wife and mother, and they would be together till the end of time...

When he thought back about that now, he hated how naive he was at that time for believing that he could lead a happy life.

She was gone suddenly, without any warning. Gone like a wind that blew by. It happened so sudden that it was still hard for him to accept the fact.

What had he done wrong? Did he treat her not well enough? Was she gone because he did not take care of her and did not grasp her tight enough? Was it because his love for her was insufficient? Or was it a punishment for him as he often mistreated her in the early days?

She trusted him and loved him for who he truly was. And he failed her. He was powerless to make her stay at his side. He failed again.

She was gone. Now, all that was left was he alone, and the heavy frozen atmosphere lingering in their room.

AN: So, tell me what you think Like it? Did I improve? He..he..
