Avada Kedavra, Sweet Dreams
A Scene from Platform 9 ¾
Camillia Vincent
Lucius stood there on the wooden platform looking down at the crimson haired girl standing in front of him. This was becoming much more difficult than he thought the situation would be. He was just sending her off to Hogwarts, for Gods' sakes; it wasn't as if he'd never see her again. Yet there he stood, gently holding her finger tips in his hands, refusing to release them, or maybe it was she who refused to let go.
"All aboard! This is the last call to Hogwarts!" The train conductor's voice resounded through the cavernous platform.
"You should be going," Lucius said, leading the girl to where she could step up onto the train. The girl however did not turn and relent to her fate. "Go."
"No." The word escaped through pouting wine colored lips, and was spoken with a sternness that said proved she wasn't stepping another inch with out proper reason or bribe.
"Sera," Lucius pleaded. "Get on the train."
"I don't want to go. I want you to come with me." Hazel eyes sparkled with tears the girl was trained to not let fall. "Don't make me go by myself."
"I can't come with you… I'm not welcome there." Lucius said his stone like exterior cracking just enough to let a touch of sorrow show through in his voice.
"Is it because you were naughty? I don't mind if it was." Small hands clutched the man's cloak, so she wasn't holding on to anything with the train lurched with the first sign of departure. Sera fell into Lucius' arms her own wrapping around his neck. "Please don't leave me."
The man placed several little kisses all over the girls pale skin, and hugged her close to him. "I can't come with you, that they will not allow, but I promise, I will never be too far away." He placed a final chaste kiss upon the girl's mouth and put her back on the train, "Now go find a seat Seraphina."
The girl offered a brilliant smile to the man though a tear stained both her flushed cheeks. Then she disappeared into the train walking along the corridor of the train. She should've been finding a seat, but she was watching the tall, aristocratic wizard, slowly following the moving train as it departed.
The train was picking up speed and Lucius was approaching the end of the platform. With a melancholic sigh he turned his back on the train. "I'll see you soon, Sera,"
"Lucius!" That familiar voice cried out.
When Lucius turned he saw the girl clinging to the brass rail of the Hogwarts Express caboose. The wind created by the machine's movement, tossed the girls hair and robes about wildly. She lifted one hand from the rail and waved goodbye with a sullen look.
People were beginning to notice the man, and for propriety's sake all he did was lift his hand and offer back a small, polite wave. Then, he turned his back on the train and made his way to leave.
"Miss?"
Sera smiled. The wave had been enough because she had seen the look in his steel grey eyes. A brow arched over a hazel eye as she turned to face the prefect who had spoken to her.
"You need to find a seat miss"
Sera nodded, and just took a spot in the nearest compartment, by some chance of luck; it was empty—just how Sera had wanted it.
He was her sanity; She was his one soft spot; Together they were the worst the wizarding world had ever seen.
