Summary: Rumpleteazer gets set straight by Munkustrap after a 'disastrous' incident with Mungojerrie (and if you get a magnifying glass you can spot the slash!).
Disclaimer: Must I?
"Oi'm an idiot" I yowled, splashing through the wet Junkyard. This is the worst day known to any cat, Jellicle or not! I had just blurted out to 'Jerrie' that I loved him and ran, unable to face rejection from him. I smacked my head against the tire where I now lay.
"Rumpleteazer?" I started and landed in an undignified heap at Munkustrap's feet "Is something the matter?"
I crouched next to Munkustrap, glancing sideways at him. He looked pretty, with his coat fluffed up after shaking it dry. I can't really blame Tugger. Horribly sappy as it may seem, my heart belongs to my Jerrie, even as it he doesn't want it. I might as well tell Munkustrap. He could be as perceptive as Old D sometimes.
"OitoldJerrieIlove'im" He stared at me blankly "Oi told Mungojerrie oi love 'im" I snapped, not wanting to repeat it more than once.
"Took you long enough" It was my turn to stare now "So why aren't you with your partner-in-crime?"
"Oi think he moight be mad at me, for sayin' it" Munkustrap stared again, and did the one thing I expected least. He laughed. Sure, I've seen him laugh sometimes, but this wasn't held back like the other times. I pouted angrily, a gesture that always worked with my Jerrie...I shook my head. He wasn't mine.
"What's so funny, Silva'?" I used the name I had used for him when we were kits. His coat had amazed me, me who loved pearls and shiny objects.
"Why do you think that? Did you ask him?" I thought for a moment. I handed waited long to ask a question. One look at his face had scared me off pronto.
"It was on moi 'to-do' list"
"Go talk to him, Teazer" I gave the tabby a watery smile and resisted the urge to throw myself at him, attempting to hold together the pieces of a Jellicle queen's dignity.
"Ta, Silva'!" He nodded, smiling at me knowingly before pouncing on Tugger as he walked past. I giggled at the pair of them, happy that I had gotten my trademark back. I skipped off in search of my Jerrie.
"Ready or not, here I come!"
