Disclaimer: MY dustbunnies, grammar goofs, double meanings, metaphors, similes, crap like that. You get it. Song is Goo Goo Dolls (see a/n at bottom), other stuff is Lucas.

And even though the moment passed me by
I still can't turn away

He sighed, head in his hands, a tear every so often slipping through.

I saw the dreams you never thought you'd lose
Tossed along the way

He'd given up everything for her- he knew she wasn't keen on a family; what he wanted. He didn't care. Nothing was meaningful besides her- she could be a family. Just them. Together. It would have been enough. She was perfect. It would have been enough.

Letters that you never meant to send
Lost or thrown away

Old drafts of letters of confession… spread across his desk, some still crumpled- come sunlight, they would lay in one little nest, reaching towards the blessed sun like tiny plants, yet bound by the confinements of the lines that were written on them.

And now we're grown up orphans
I never knew their names
They don't belong to no one that's the same
You could hide beside me
Maybe for a while
And I won't tell no one your name…

I won't tell 'em your name

He begged… he pleaded. She said she'd go with it if they were hidden. He agreed- anything for her. Anything. She kept repeating no, no, it would never work… both of them orphans… her raised like she was.

Scars are souvenirs you never lose
The past is never far

She sat, sadistically admiring one scarred hand, sighing as she remembered in solitude.

And did you lose yourself somewhere out there
Did you get to be a star?

Somehow she thought… that… maybe the solitude wasn't always good. Even the biggest celebrities had their counterparts and here she was- second-in-command of some company, richer than she ever hoped to be…

Don't it make you sad to know that life
Is more than who we are?

…moping. She had nothing to live for, she reasoned. Yeah, well, I guess there's little left to do then, huh? She glanced at the window… the glass in that nice, rounded, easily shattered pattern… the thousands of feet to the ground below… and shuddered. The sky was blue- that blue. It was as if even the elements were after her to see him again.

Grew up way too fast
Now there's nothing to believe
And reruns all become our history
A tired song keeps playin on
A tired radio
And I won't tell no one your name…

I won't tell 'em your name

Sighing, she stood, still looking at that sardonic scarred hand, knowing where every scar was on that hand, on that arm accompanying, on that whole body attached. She could trace them in the dark; she knew he could, too.

I won't tell 'em your name
I won't tell 'em your name

A knock came on her door. "Who is it?"

Stumbling over to answer, she was suddenly invaded by the delightful, distressed presence she had been so graciously reminded of earlier. "Luke?"

I think about you all the time
But I don't need to sing
It's lonely where you are
Come back down-

He stepped in, and opened his arms- teartracks winding down his face. That was all the motivation she needed… she rushed into his embrace, finally releasing the sobs that had knotted her svelte frame for so long. The Force intertwined between them… their connection secure.

Luke let her go for a moment, just watching her. "Gods, I love you so much… you have no idea-"

"Hush." And as she kissed him, drawing it out merely to make it last, she added, I love you, too.

Life itself around them recovered as the Force released them to Mother Nature.

and I won't tell 'em your name

A/N: Well well well… how do my minions enjoy?

Song: Name, The Goo Goo Dolls. Off of the album 'A Boy Named Goo'. (Classic GGD...)

Fantasti-tabulous. As usual. Up to standard GGD par.

And yes… there are some double meanings in this one.

I'm in a metaphoric mood.
