Notes/Warning: If you don't know who Eyes is, I would suggest not reading this yet.

Eyes stood staring out of his window, watching the winter night blow through Tokyo's brightly lit corridors. The whole of Tokyo was at his fingertips, it was begging him to play its ivory rooftops and its black streets just as beautifully as he played the piano that stood next to him. He turned away; he needed to focus on his mission. Or was it now his obsession? Narumi-otouto, Narumi Ayumu was now his mission, the Blade Children's one hope. That was what Kiyotaka had said; Narumi-otouto would save the blade children from their doomed fate.

Years ago their future had been lost in fantasy; their past in misery. Only their hope, the one burning desire to move forward and live to see the next day kept them fighting for life. Why they were cursed could not be explained, not even to the one person who might be able to help them.

He sat on the piano bench facing the window. He needed Narumi-otouto to realize what he could do, how he could help them, give them hope, at least for the sake of the others. Rain started to streak down the window, blurring the vibrant city below. Standing up, he pulled on his jacket and got his umbrella before leaving the dark room, his feet tracing the steps he had taken countless before down into the rainy streets.

The rain falling on the city was peaceful in comparison to his wandering mind. It kept leaving the well known path of the park to wander the streets of the unknown beyond the darkness that lay ahead. Questions appeared and disappeared without answers or reason. He came to the river and stopped in front of the bridge. Coming from the other side was Narumi-otouto, carrying purple and yellow irises.

Eyes started walking again watching the flowers as they swung back and forth in his hand. They met in the middle of the bridge and both stood there for several minutes looking at each other. Ayumu shifted uncomfortably, and moved the irises into his other hand. Eyes noticed and watched him as he did so, rain falling off the tips of the petals.

"Aniki said that these irises mean 'The fortune of the believer'."

Eyes nodded slightly. He had the same purple and yellow irises in his studio.

"Eyes Rutherford, tell me what the Blade Children are. Tell me where my brother is!"

"Now is not the right time, Narumi-otouto…"

Eyes started walking again, leaving Narumi-otouto staring at the rain dripping down from his umbrella. He didn't turn around or look back, he knew what he would see, only his footprints leaving the slight imprint of mud kissing the surface of the bridge before it disappeared altogether in the downpour of rain that was now presently consuming the city.

He remembered Kiyotaka telling him what the irises that he always had nearby meant. It was because of their meaning that he could not tell Narumi-otouto about the curse. He ignored all the questions running through his mind, focusing on one thing: 'The fortune of the believers'.

Narumi-otouto would hear the melody of truth.
