The Girl & The Bird:

There once was a girl who lived alone in house just outside a nearby forest. One day the girl heard chirping. The girl ran to where she had heard the chirping coming. In between the two bushes the girl had found the reason of the noise. It was bird, a magnificently beautiful with extraordinary color. The girl fell in love with the bird seeing that he had hurt his wing.

For weeks she tended to the birds wing and took care of the bird. The girl would sit & spend hours hearing the bird sing in its song. The girl found herself loving the bird more and more. She would spend hours playing with the bird. She would compliment the bird in its singing and how beautiful his feathers were.

Months passed by and the bird's wing had healed a while back. But things had changed the bird no longer sang his beautiful song. He would spend hours staring out of the window longing to fly again in open blue skies. The girl grew worried for her bird, for he no longer ate or drank.

With a heavy heart the girl opened the door to the birds cage and took him out. She walked slowly out of the door of her house with the bird in her hands. The girl walked down the path leading to a forest. Without a warning she let go of the bird as if to drop it. By instinct the bird spread his wings and flew upward to his home in the skies.

She watched the bird fly, wondering whether she had done the right thing.

Malfoy did not say a word. And neither did I. "That bird is me isn't it?" he asked breaking the silence. He took my silence for a yes for he began walking away never looking back. He never did come back. I walked the opposite direction asking the same question the girl in my story asked herself. Did I , Hermione Granger, do the right thing by letting him go.
