I tried to kill the pain

But only brought more

(So much more)

I lay dying

As she lay on her bed, Arwen desperately tried to reach Aragorn's mind. She sent him images of her, but she wasn't sure if he saw them.

And I'm pouring

Crimson regret, and betrayal

"I wish I were dying another way," she thought. "I would find more comfort if I had a wound that could be seen." The red on her dress represented the blood she wished had been spilt. She was dying of a broken heart that Aragorn, nor her father could see.

I'm dying, praying

Bleeding, and screaming

Am I too lost to be saved

Am I too lost

"I can not find my way. I can not find my way without him." She said to the wind.

My God, my tourniquet

Return to me, salvation

My God, my tourniquet

Return to me, salvation

"He does not know. He does not know I that I am dying. Damn the obstacles that lie in our way! Damn my father for trying to separate us! For telling me there was no hope! Did he really think that distance would separate us? No. My love for Aragorn is stronger than that!"

Do you remember me

Lost for so long

Will you be on the other side

Or will you forget me

In her visions, Arwen saw another woman in Aragorn's life. A lady of Rohan. She saw the woman's love for Aragorn. Did Aragorn see it? "If he did, would he abandon me?" Arwen wondered. Would he choose a safer love? One that would not have to give up her life for him?

I'm dying, praying

Bleeding, and screaming

Am I too lost to be saved

Am I too lost

My God, my tourniquet

Return to me, salvation

My God, my tourniquet

Return to me, salvation

Arwen smiled as she remembered the taste of his kisses, and the feel of his warm embrace. She thought of the love that flowed from his heart and wrapped itself around her like a security blanket. She giggled as she remembered the many times he would come to her bedroom in the middle of the night. Surely Aragorn would remember that she still loved him. Surely that man who could make her whole would return to her.

Return to me, salvation

I long to die

She wanted the pain to be over.

My God, my tourniquet

Return to me, salvation

My God, my tourniquet

Return to me, salvation

She would not wish her pain on Aragorn. She just wished to be comforted by him once again. The feel his arms around her. That was all she wanted, and that she was denied.

My wounds cry for the grave

My soul cries for deliverance

Will I be denied Christ

Tourniquet, my suicide

"Why did you take him away from me!" she cried to the gods. "I need him now. You know that! Bring him back to me!"

Aragorn received her images. She felt him stir in his sleep. "How to make him see?" she wondered. How to make him see her fate? Suddenly, she saw the Evenstar shattering. She sent the image to Aragorn.

Return to me, salvation

Return to me, salvation

Aragorn bolted up in his bed. Arwen smiled. He knew now. He knew.
