Black Roses

Prologue

The thunder echoed loudly and the lightning bolts lit up the whole sky. Bellatrix shuddered in her bed and felt the coldness touching and grasping her whole body. There was another roar of thunder, so loud she screamed.

"Bellatrix, what's wrong?" asked her older sister from her bed.

"Andromeda, I'm scared. Please, come here." She had been terrified of storms ever since her mother closed her up in the attic through a really big one when she was a small kid, for playing with a muggle kid. Andromeda got out of her bed, sat down next to her, and grabbed her hand.

"You're trembling."

"I know."

"Why? What's happening?"

"It's the storm. It's so scary and…loud." she said, and Andromeda chuckled.

"Bella, it's only a storm."

"I know, but" She didn't finish because the door to their room opened and a little blond girl stood there.

"Narcissa! What are you doing here?" Bellatrix barked at her.

"I had a bad dream," she whispered with her thin voice. Andromeda sighed.

"You too?"

"Go back to your room!"

"No, you can come here," Andromeda said gently, and Narcissa formed a smile on her innocent face. She jumped into the bed right on Bellatrix's leg, causing her to groan in pain.

Stupid little Narcissa. Everyone loves her and she has everything she asks for. Our parents treat her like a royal goddess, thought Bellatrix.

"Stupid annoying git," she whispered to herself, but Andromeda heard it.

"Bellatrix! Calm down, we're sisters and you shouldn't treat her like this. This gives me an idea…"

"What kind of an idea, Andy?" Narcissa squeaked.

"You let her call you Andy?"

"Let's take an oath," she said ignoring her comment.

"What!"

"What is that?"

"An oath is a promise," Andromeda said, while Narcissa sat in her lap and played with her hair.

"What will we promise?"

"Loyalty and love to each other. You know…like in those books."

"Andromeda, you've been reading muggle books again? Mum and dad will kill you if they'll find out," Bellatrix hissed.

"Don't tell them and nothing will happen to me," she snapped. Bellatrix bent down her head and frowned.

"Why should we do some stupid useless oath?" she asked.

"It's not useless. This way, we will stay loyal to each other forever and we'll share a bond that won't break no matter what." Andromeda seemed really excited, but Bellatrix didn't understand why. "Please?"

"Yes, yes, yes!" Narcissa grinned. They both looked at Bellatrix with pleading eyes and to stop their annoying stares, she agreed. Andromeda was in ecstasy while she took a dagger from her drawer.

"Fine, put your hands together and repeat what I say. Understand?" They both nodded. "I, Andromeda Black."

"I, Narcissa Black."

"I, Bellatrix Black."

Andromeda continued, "Do hereby my loyalty to you, my sisters."

"Do hereby my loyalty to you, my sisters."

"To always respect and love you in all times."

"To always respect and love you in all times."

"This do I swear and my blood so bind me."

"This do I swear and my blood so bind me." Andromeda put the dagger into her palm and clutched it. She pulled the dagger out of her hand. There was a scratch through it. She did the same to Bellatrix and Narcissa, who let out a soft sob. They put their bleeding hands together and remained silent.

There they sat, their hands in one another's. They felt so connected at that moment, lightning marking their sister bond. All three of them thought that if nothing else, this would last forever…
