After watching that one episode with Colonel Tigh's wife, the line where Dr. Baltar says "I'll never tell" stayed in my mind for a long time so i wrote this. I'm still new at fanfic stuff so reviews would be greatly appreciated but please no flames.

Five hours.

Five hours since they had come and gone. Without warning they stormed in killing everyone; men, women and children, with mechanical precision. The terrified screams as mothers tried to protect their children while others ran caring only that they live another day. He would never forget tangible fear emanating from the hallways. They rampaged through the halls until there was nothing left but a complete, absolute silence.

Then he saw her. Three words came unbidden to his mind.

I'll never tell.

She smirked, then turned around and disappeared, never to return. Her mission was accomplished.

Fear and despair tore at his insides. He ran and ran, down the hallways of the ship. The sound of his boots echoed in the unnatural silence. His voice was hoarse and raw and he screamed, desperate for someone to hear him. He ran until he could run no more.

As he doubled over in exhaustion, he heard the sounds of footsteps. The short clipped sound of heels echoed down the hall. He watched in horrified fascination as a person rounded the hallway and stood facing him.

Shelley Godfrey in all her glory. She walked up to him and bent down, her fingers caressing his cheek, the touch of her fingers bringing cool relief.

Very good, she murmured in a soft silky voice. A feeling of despair washed over him. Then she stood up and smiled at him and she too left.

Now he was alone; alone with nothing to entertain him but thoughts of his sin. Guilt welled up inside him and threatened to overflow. He gave a strangled sob.

It wasn't my fault.

The rancid smell of blood was over powering and he bent over once again. The bitter taste of vomit erupted from his mouth.

Finally, he stopped to look around and cowered at what he saw. Tangled bodies laid piled on the floor. Evidence of the mad bid for escape; all in vain.

Now they would lie there forever; a shrine of bodies. Evidence of what once was, of what had taken billion of years to create. He had destroyed them in an hour. And now they condemned him.

Empty vacant eyes stared back taunting him.

Why?

Traitor…Coward.

Tears cascaded down his face as his guilt-wracked body could no longer support him and slowly slid to the ground.
