The Great Black Dragon
Through the skies she soars on bat like wings
Her underbelly shines gold against the sun
one standing outside might think her evil
but I know the truth of this black one
She is guardian of hobbit and elf alike
her gentleness to all is unmatched
But make her angry oh dear no
her firey wrath will be unlatched
She is older than all time
having slept for many an age
She was wakened again
by the sounds of rage
With a fierce roar she flies
Off to fight some unknown evil foe
Odd for a black one, yes indeed
But this one is not normal, oh no.
Many a times this regal beast
Has had my back in a fight
She poured out her firey hell
when my child was taken on an unplanned flight.
Who is this beast this great black beast,
This magnificent dragon, so precious to me?
Some call her Amy, but I know the truth
She's the great one, called by the gods, Shang'li
Lady Frodo
